A Brief Introduction to La Reine Margot's Story

/kloc-In the second half of the 6th century, France was in the Huguenot War, Catholics and Protestants were engaged in a brutal civil war, and the palace was luxurious and decadent. In A.D. 1572, the Catholic royal family decided to marry Henry de Bourbon (Daniel Auteuil), the Protestant leader of Nabal, and Princess Margaret (isabelle adjani), the king's sister, became a victim of political marriage. The wedding of Margaret and Henry was held in Paris. While everyone was celebrating the wedding, a massacre against Protestants began under the planning of the Empress Dowager Catherine de Medici (virna lisi), and the night of Saint bartholomew made the whole of France bleed. Later, after several years of war, Margaret's brothers died, but her husband unexpectedly inherited the French throne and became the first monarch of Bourbon, Henry IV. Margaret also changed from princess to La Reine Margot.
