Northern Saipan
Blue Cave (Grottoes)
Located at the end of the winding and complicated coastline in the northeast corner of Saipan. This sea cave hidden under the coastal cliff can be said to be the best diving spot in Saipan and even the Northern Mariana Islands. Get off the parking lot and follow the steep steps of 1 17, and you will see this mysterious blue cave. The surface area of the blue cave is not large, but after diving into the deep blue, you will see three tortuous caves leading to the sea. When the sun is strongest, the blue light reflected underwater is the most beautiful. Gorgeous cliffs, drifting passages, huge caves and all kinds of aquatic animals outside the caves are all calling divers to explore.
Suicide cliff
Suicide is located on Malpi Island at an altitude of 249 meters, standing behind the Long Live Cliff like a screen. The south side of the cliff is a gentle slope, and the north side facing the Long Live Cliff is a high cliff. Standing on the observation deck of the Peace Memorial Park on the edge of the cliff, you can have a panoramic view of the northern part of Saipan.
Bird island (observation deck)
Bird Island is an offshore limestone island on the northeast coast of Saipan. The cliffs around Bird Island are covered with small holes suitable for birds to nest. At sunset, you can see the spectacular sight of flocks of seabirds gathering here. However, the name Bird Island actually has another origin. Whenever stormy waves beat on the shores on both sides of Bird Island, this bay takes off like a bird flapping its wings, so it is called "Bird Island".
Banzaiya
Viva Cliff, located at the northernmost tip of Saipan, is a steep cliff facing the blue Pacific Ocean with a drop of 80 meters. Because of its broad vision, it has become one of the best observation platforms in Saipan. 1944, the Japanese troops stationed in Saipan were successively defeated under the fierce offensive of the US military. Finally, more than 1000 Japanese soldiers and people left here shouted "Long live the emperor" and jumped off the cliff, hence the name. Viva Cliff is still a difficult diving spot at some time. Large deep-sea aquatic animals such as sharks, eagle rays and dolphins often appear here; There are also amazing anemones and corals here. However, due to the depth of sea water and complicated current, this diving spot is only suitable for experts to try.
The last command post
The last headquarters of the Japanese army is located at the foot of Mapi Mountain in the north of Saipan. The headquarters is hidden in a cliff covered with dense forests. This is a secret fortress built on the terrain. When the Japanese army was defeated in Saipan, the Japanese commander performed a caesarean section here. The Korean Peace Monument on the north side of the headquarters was built to commemorate the Korean soldiers and civilians who were forcibly recruited here that year. The eagle on the monument overlooks the Korean peninsula on the other side of the ocean.
San Juan beach
Crocodile Mouth Beach is located on the east coast of Saipan. Follow the path through the layers of dense forests and come to this rocky beach. This rocky beach is not suitable for swimming, but years of wave erosion have brought unique landforms. The rocks on both sides were cut by the waves, which looked like a fierce crocodile struggling in the rough waves with its huge mouth open. A few "cake stones" in front of the crocodile's mouth will surface at low tide, which is an excellent place to take pictures. The waves here are swift and unpredictable, so we must pay attention to safety.
Galaban-Central Saipan
managaha island
Warship Island is located in a lagoon in the west of Saipan, 2.5 kilometers away from Galaban Island.
Managaha means "pearl" in Chamorro language. Set soft and delicate white sand beach, emerald pure sea water and spotless blue sky, Warship Island is a veritable pearl of Saipan. In addition to its picturesque scenery, Warship Island is also the best water sports experience in Saipan. Snorkeling, diving, umbrella towing, banana boat, water walking and other projects are dizzying. If you are tired, you can rent a lounge chair on the white beach to relax and enjoy the barbecue buffet. In order to maintain the environment of warship island, it is only open from 08:30- 16:00 every day, and an environmental tax of $6 per person is levied on tourists. It takes only 15 minutes to reach warship island by ferry from Saipan pier.
Tapochao Mountain
Tamping Chaoshan Mountain is the highest point in Saipan, with an altitude of 475 meters. Through the mountain road in the dense forest, you can come to the foot of the mountain. On the top of the mountain, there is a white sacred statue of Jesus, which opens its arms to the west. Seen from the top of the mountain, the scenery is very good. You can have a 360-degree panoramic view of Saipan, and you can see the looming arc of sea level. Looking south when the weather is clear, you can also see Tianning Island and Goat Island not far away.
American Memorial Park
The American Memorial Park is located in the northern part of the Galaban region. This is a memorial park, which was built in memory of American soldiers killed in World War II. The overall style is simple and elegant, with a memorial to the sacrifice of the American army and the people of Saipan. The visitor center in the park keeps a large number of precious historical materials of World War II, which are open to guests free of charge, reminding people how difficult it is to be quiet and peaceful at present. Nowadays, it is also an excellent place for tourists to take a walk in their leisure time.
Miniature beach
Mcshipwreck is one of the most popular beaches in Saipan. It is located between the Hyatt Regency Saipan and glanville Resort, stretching for hundreds of meters and facing the warship island across the sea. Here, you can witness the ever-changing landscape of the sea and the supply ships watching from afar. During the day, you can enjoy snorkeling, sailing, speedboat and other water activities here. At night, you can enjoy buffet food and dynamic singing and dancing at the seaside, which can be said to be the most pleasant holiday attraction in Saipan.
Temple of Santa Lourde
The Cave of Our Lady Luther is located in the mountains in the middle of Saipan. Legend has it that during World War II, the whole island was black and blue under the baptism of artillery fire, and only here was miraculously protected from destruction. In Saipan, where more than 90% of the population believes in Catholicism, Notre Dame Cave is regarded as one of the most sacred places on the island. The cave where the Madonna is located is covered with towering fir and banyan trees, which adds a mystery.
Southern Saipan
Forbidden island
The Forbidden Island is located at the end of Laolao Bay in the southeast of Saipan. An island in the sea separated from Saipan by seawater erosion. Usually it is only connected with Saipan through intricate stones, but it is completely separated from Saipan at high tide. Cross the rugged road to the Forbidden Island Observation Deck, overlooking the panoramic view of the Forbidden Island and the sea view of Laolaowan. Many locals will regard Forbidden Island as a holy place for hiking. Visitors can follow professional guides and explore along steep mountain roads until they reach the foot of Forbidden Island, and feel the wild power of Pacific ocean waves and rocks at close range.
Tanke beach
Tank beach is located in the southeast of Saipan. This beach faces the turbulent waves of the Pacific Ocean all the year round and is not suitable for underwater sports. But this is the only beach in Saipan with starry sand, so it is also very popular. It is called Saipan Starry Sand Beach.
Once upon a time, there was a strange creature on beautiful Saipan. The discoverer called it Starsand because of its rare star shape. In a superficial understanding, we can think that xingsha is a kind of coral. If we are dogmatic, Xingsha is the calcium carbonate skeleton of single-celled organisms. It is said that people who love each other harvest the stars and sands together, and they will reap lifelong happiness.
The reason why the tank beach is called the tank beach is because in the famous "Battle of Saipan" between the United States and Japan, the US military landed here, and several old tanks that sank into the sea became the witness of the history of World War II. We can snorkel around the tanks and touch the steel that is no longer warm with our hands. On the farther sea, there are many active supply warships of the US military. Once there is any need in the Philippine Sea or the Pacific Ocean, these warships will follow the command of the entire Pacific fleet and rush to support. In the era of relative peace, quiet supply ships have gradually become the scenery on postcards.
Mount Carmel cathedral
Mount Carmel Catholic Cathedral was built in 1949, symbolizing the islanders' determination to rebuild Saipan, which was destroyed by the war. Between the Catholic cemetery and the cross, there are relics of the Japanese colonial period, such as the torii Shrine, which tells the historical track of the Northern Mariana Islands.
