Mick's brief movie plot

Mick's Shortcut is a western film from a female perspective, and it was selected as the main competition unit of the 20 10 Venice Film Festival. This is Kelly Reichardt's third work. She is an independent female director with many powerful actors. This film is based on real events and characters in the development of the western United States. It is both a western film and a road film. When people trudged across the Oregon Highway with three families, the magnificent, desolate and terrible natural environment in the west was unobstructed in front of the camera.

The story takes place in the American continent in 1845, and early immigrants entered Oregon. A motorcade composed of three families hired mountain man Steven Mick as a guide to cross the Cascade Mountains. Mick claimed that there was a shortcut, but he led the motorcade to a desert no man's land. In the days that followed, immigrants experienced water shortage, hunger and loss of confidence. At this time, an American native passed by, and the immigrants had to pin all their hopes on this man who had always been regarded as an enemy.
