The car drove smoothly all the way, but it took seven or eight laps around Siguniang Mountain in Shenzhen to reach the South Australia Pier. As soon as we set foot on this mysterious land, we deeply felt its tranquility and romance. The most beautiful thing on Sanmen Island is the sea. In the "private beach" of Sanmen Island, surrounded by foothills and breezy, the sea water is clear and transparent, which is very suitable for swimming. In this completely pollution-free water world, enjoying the beautiful scenery composed of sunshine and mountains and rivers, even soaking in the sand, is extremely enjoyable, leaving only tranquility, comfort and harmony between man and nature. On the vast sea surface, the "Sanmen" of China Maritime Border Pass consists of Siguniang Mountain in Shenzhen and Sanmen Island in Huizhou, hence the name. Under the good name of Daya Bay, the island is like a paradise on the blue sea. It has existed quietly for thousands of years, but it has been kept in the boudoir. The hotel on the island is close to the sea. When you open the window, you can see the sea and the sky. The mangrove forest, known as the living fossil, is located at the back of the hotel, welcoming tourists gently and without losing reserve.

There is a place called Mawan Village in Sanmen Island. Not many people live in it. There are dense tropical plants everywhere, dotted with old trees, vines and low bushes. Inadvertently, you can also see the "bomb shelter" left under the big banyan tree: the hole is less than one meter high, surrounded by hard rocks and roots, covered with irregular iron chisel marks, which looks deep. It is said that there are more than 20 underground fortifications with a total length of 5 kilometers, more than 30 powerful hidden bunkers and criss-crossing trenches on the island, and the A Qing Customs ammunition depot has been preserved to this day on the top of the mountain.

Under the bright moon and starry sky, accompanied by the breezy sea breeze, we sat around the Fisherman's Wharf, drinking shrimp porridge, and listening to the village chief's introduction of Sanmen Island's history: it is located in the southeast of Dapeng Peninsula, facing the Pacific Ocean, guarding the waterway throat of Hong Kong through Guangdong, Fujian, Zhejiang and Taiwan provinces, from the "Jiulong Pass" established in the Qing Dynasty to the Japanese occupation period, the Kuomintang rule period and 1952. It has always been an important gateway and military fortress at sea, and its true face has long been unknown. It was not until the withdrawal of troops in 1998 that local exchanges and contacts with foreign countries officially began.

Tasting raw seafood is the highlight.

When visiting the island, tasting raw and fierce seafood is the highlight: from crab yellow porridge and fried rice noodles with dried squid and shrimps for breakfast, to steamed warehouse fish, big-headed snails, jumping snails, fresh squid sashimi and Seto shrimp at noon, and then to sea shrimp sashimi, shark meat and steamed sea bass at night ... Fresh seafood is simply processed and served on a plate, which will soon be "destroyed".

The scenery on the island is beautiful, and the hearts of the villagers are even more beautiful. People here have lived by the sea for generations and made a living by fishing. Their daily job is to cast nets at night and close them in the early morning, all year round.

Where is it?

Da Sanmen Island (commonly known as Sanmen Island) is located in the eastern waters of Shenzhen and is one of the Tuoning Islands in Huizhou. It is adjacent to Daya Bay in the east and the Pacific Ocean in the west, covering an area of about five square kilometers and 8.7 nautical miles from Hong Kong waters. There are three villages on the island, namely Mawan Village, Beikou Village and Xiaosanmen Village. On the other hand, Toning Islands consists of Sanmen Island, Qingzhou Island, sunshine island, Huangmao Island, Hongshenggong Island, Daqingzhen Island and Guiwan Island.

How to get there?

Self-driving:

Take Guangzhou-Shenzhen Expressway-Jihe Expressway-Huiyan Expressway by car-and get out at Longgang Exit to reach South Australia. On the way, you need to pay about 150 yuan, dock parking fee about 10 yuan, and the journey is about150km.

After stopping at Nan 'ao Pier, you can rent a speedboat in the restaurant. 200 yuan a boat, round trip can take seven people. You can also book a boat at Sanmen Island Hotel.
