Introduction to the 4·14 fire accident in Xiangyang, Hubei

A fire broke out at Yijing City Garden Hotel on Qianjin East Road, Fancheng District, Xiangyang City, Hubei Province at around 6:00 on April 14, 2013. The fire was extinguished at 8:50.

The fire started in an Internet cafe called Centrino Internet Club on the second floor of the City Garden Hotel, and then spread to the entire building.

The City Garden Hotel where the fire occurred is a brick-concrete structure with five floors, covering an area of ??1,000 square meters, a building area of ??5,000 square meters, and 58 guest rooms. On the evening of the 13th, There are 67 people staying in 54 of the rooms, and 25 people are online in the Internet cafe on the second floor.

At around 11:30 pm on April 14, 2013, two of the three critically injured people in the fire accident died in the hospital after rescue efforts failed, and the death toll rose to 14. The Fancheng District Government of Xiangyang City held a press conference and announced the identities of the eight confirmed victims. Several of the eight victims were female college students, all aged 20 to 21. The special aftermath team has contacted the families of the identified victims and injured, and the Xiangyang Municipal Government has arranged for dedicated personnel and special funds to go to the hospital to express condolences to the injured and their families.
