Brief introduction of Miaogong Reservoir

Miaogong Reservoir is located on the main stream of Yixun River, 30 kilometers south of Weichang County, Chengde City, Hebei Province. It is a large-scale (II) water control project focusing on flood control and comprehensive utilization of irrigation and power generation. In history, it was a must-see place for several emperors in the Qing Dynasty to hold the ceremony of "Mulan seeking immortality". Miaogong, the palace where the Qing emperor came to hunt, built a reservoir here after liberation for flood control irrigation in the lower reaches, so it was called Miaogong Reservoir. The reservoir controls a drainage area of 2,370 square kilometers, accounting for 54.5% of the drainage area of Yixun River, with a total storage capacity of183 million cubic meters. This project is designed according to the return flood of 100, and checked by the return flood in 2000. The design seismic intensity is 6 degrees.
