One piece (ワンピース, ten thousand p and Pīsu? ) is a Japanese shin nen cartoon created by Eiichiro Oda with illustrations, which has been serialized in the weekly Shō nen Jump since August 4th. 1997. Each chapter was published by Shueisha in tankō bon fascicle, the first volume was published on1February 24th 1997, and 50 volumes were published in June 2008. One Piece was licensed by Viz Media to distribute English version in North America. Chapters are being serialized in Viz's Shonen Jump comic anthology and published in Tank Not Bon Volumes. In the UK, the series was released by Gollancz Manga. Crazy Entertainment is releasing the series in Australia and New Zealand.
This series was adapted by Production I.G into the original video animation (OVA) produced in 1998. This series was later adapted into a complete animation series by Dongying Animation, which premiered on 19991October 20th in Japan. Up to August 3rd, 2008, 368 episodes have been broadcast. This animation series is authorized by 4Kids Entertain ment to play a lot of edited English dubbing in North America. Since then, it has been authorized to distribute 1 DVD in the whole region and play it by entertainment. In addition to anime series and O VA, One Piece has been adapted into 9 feature films by Dongying, and several video games based on this series have been released.
One Piece, with a sales volume of more than1400,000 copies, became the third-highest selling comic in the history of Weekly Trendy. This is considered to be their most popular book in Japan and the third best-selling book in history.
