Recommended accommodation hotels in Cairo, Egypt
If you want to travel to Egypt, you must first understand the local accommodation conditions. The cost of local accommodation is actually not expensive. This is a very good place to travel. If you want to visit, friends can refer to the following information.
About visas
According to the official statement, there are three ways for Chinese citizens to apply for visas to enter Egypt:
In short, holding a US visa and a Schengen visa You can apply for a visa at home first, or you can apply for a visa on arrival directly at the airport after arriving in Egypt. If you do not have a US visa or a Schengen visa, you need to prepare a round-trip air ticket, US$2,000 in cash, book a travel itinerary in a 4 or 5-star hotel, and apply for a visa on arrival.
The on-site application for visa on arrival is very convenient and fast. After getting off the plane, you can follow the signs to get to customs. After filling out the immigration card, you can pay 25 US dollars to buy a visa sticker at the bank counter in front of the customs, and then queue up to hand over the immigration card and visa sticker to the customs, so that you can enter the country.
: Accommodation in Cairo
1. The cheapest Hilton hotel in the world
Egypt has the cheapest Hilton hotel in the world. During the first two years when Hilton was still implementing the "Diamond Challenge" policy, many people flew to Cairo to stay for a period of time just to get Hilton Diamond Cards at the lowest hotel cost.
There are seven Hilton hotels in Cairo***, two of which are close to the airport, four are located in the city, and one is located in the Pyramids Scenic Area. Four Hilton hotels in the city center cost just about $78 a night.
The one located in the World Trade Center belongs to the residential series, mainly apartment-style suites. Family suites are priced at US$140 and can accommodate 4-6 people, which equates to an average of only US$20-30 per person. If you are traveling with a group of friends, I recommend this hotel from a cost-effective perspective.
2. Other hotel booking apps
Cairo’s star hotels have lower overall prices and have complete security measures. To enter the hotel, you need to go through machine and manual security checks. Therefore, when traveling in Egypt, for safety reasons, it is not recommended to book a B&B. It is best to choose a star hotel.
Generally, except Hilton, which is booked directly through the "Hilton Honors" app (where you can earn points), other hotels are booked through Booking and Agoda. Prices are usually the same on both platforms, but occasionally some hotels only offer discounts on one of the apps, so you can compare prices on both sides. For example, Kempinski's usual price is about 1,200 yuan per night. I found a discount for booking at that time, and the final booking price was about 800 yuan.
We also recommend the BBQ pizza in the lobby bar downstairs of the Ritz-Carlton. I personally think the food in Egypt is far worse than the food in the UK. After eating at all the top restaurants on all the major review sites, I discovered that this pizza might be the best thing in Cairo.
3. Outside the window is the local cheap World Heritage Hotel.
One of the best deals I have ever stayed at. Imagine staying just a hundred meters away from a World Heritage site, with the Pyramids of Khufu and the Sphinx outside your window. You won't believe the price, only $42 a night.
Another benefit of living here is that you can get up at 7:30 in the morning, leisurely go to the rooftop terrace of the hotel to have breakfast, and then walk for one minute to become the first person to enter the scenic spot. Admire the panoramic view of the empty pyramids alone.
However, the shortcoming of this hotel is that it does not have a complete security system like a star-rated hotel, and the hardware is probably similar to that of domestic express hotels. However, I think the window view and price are worth arranging for a day or two.
The owner of the hotel, a kind local uncle, gave my friend and I a scarab amulet on the day he left the hotel. Later I saw the allusion in the museum——.
"Bless you from disease, jealousy and magic".
All my favorite places in Cairo:
El Fishawi is a hookah shop located in Khalili Market. During the few days in Cairo, he went there almost every night and ordered one. A jug of shisha and a glass of lemon mint juice. Pedestrians sitting on the seats on the street, boys wearing naan on their heads hawking along the street, vendors selling cigarettes and fake watches, and uncles in suits and ties who looked like mafia handovers, and there were people singing with tambourines around them. Man this is how I felt in Cairo.
