Savoy Theatre is a West End Theatre located in Riverside Street, Westminster, London, England. It was opened in 188 1 10, and was built by Richard D'Oyly Carter on the former site of Sava Palace. It performs the comic operas of Gilbert and Sullivan, such as The Emperor, which is called Savoy Opera.

Savoy Theatre is the first public building in the world that is completely illuminated by electric lights [1]. 1889, Richard D'Oyly Carter built the savoy hotel next to the theater. The Savoy Theatre has been run by the Carter family for many years. Rupert, son of Richard, rebuilt the theater in 1929, and rebuilt it again after the fire in 1993.
