The famous ancient pagoda in Xishuangbanna
Crossing the quiet river from the edge of Manfeilong Village is a 200-step stone step. On the left side of the stone steps is an endless forest, and on the right side is a row of lush rubber forests. The stone steps are full of red, yellow and yellow mountain flowers, buzzing bees are busy collecting honey, and the sound of birds resounds everywhere. At the end of the stone steps are the white pagodas of Manfeilong, which are particularly dignified, quiet and auspicious in such a beautiful and vibrant embrace of nature.
Baita is a King Kong throne tower, but it is different from all the King Kong throne towers in the Central Plains and Yunnan. The general King Kong Throne Pagoda is a group of five pagodas dedicated to Mahayana Buddhism, while the Buddhism believed by the Dai people spread to the upper part of the country, which is a secular religion with much freer form. The White Pagoda of Manfeilong is the style of one main tower, eight auxiliary towers and nine pagodas. From a distance, it looks like a white Tallinn, which is particularly majestic.
The structure of the White Pagoda is built on a basically circular Sumeru Mountain, and nine pagodas are built at the same time, just like a plum blossom shape with many petals. The tower is 3.9m high and14.25m in diameter. The seat has four floors, which are gradually divided, and the bottom floor extends in all directions into a square Buddha seat. Two temples with vertical slopes are built on the base, and there is a ticket gate Buddha. Every time a stone Buddha is dedicated, a large number of small Buddha statues are embossed on the wall, forming a picture of all the Buddhas gathered in a stool. There are mud peacocks flying in the air on the Buddha's ridge, flowers and moire patterns along the door, and two sculptures of big dragons. These sculptures are colorful and resplendent, which can be described as a collection of Dai folk crafts.
The main tower in the tower group is taller than other towers, just like the main theme of a symphony. The main tower reflects eight towers, forming a rhythm of nine singing and one harmony, which is very pleasing to the eye. The height of the main tower is12.03m, and the tower is round. The tower on the seat is composed of three layers of overlapping pots, which are gradually divided from bottom to top. At the junction between layers, there are circular lotus carvings. The upper part of the tower is made of nine annular phase wheels, on which there are three-dimensional relief of trumpet-shaped lotus petals, on which three gourd-shaped treasure bottles are supported and metal brake rods are inserted. These poles are equipped with four upward and downward winds. The circle of the bowl, the circle of the Aquarius, the circle of the tower bottom and the arc of the lotus are combined into a round and lovely image, which sets off the Buddhist purpose of tolerance, liberation, understanding and success in the upper part of Buddhism's spread to the south and the kindness, gentleness and beauty of the Dai people.
There is a small Buddhist temple on the gentle hillside. A group of young monks are wearing scaffolding workers for an afternoon class. Young children are singing Buddhist songs, which attracts us to stop and concentrate. Monks are the cleaners of this pagoda, and the spotless pagoda relies on their hard work.
It is said that this tower was built in the Dai calendar in 565 (A.D. 1204), and it has been 797 years since. Its design, architecture, ceremony and other grand occasions are recorded in detail in the Bayeux Sutra. 1978, the tower was rebuilt, and the surrounding city walls, population areas and a pair of dragons guarding the holy land were restored. The dragons in the White Pagoda of Manfeilong are different from those in mainland China. It is not the image of a clam snake with a thin waist and a long body, but it is round and fat, like a tiger and a leopard. The dragon holds its head high, its four corners stand upright, its eyes are wide open, and it seems to roar rather than roar, which is very exotic among the rich. This tower has a great reputation. Every year during the Songkran Festival, Dai villages in this area gather here and hold a grand ceremony of worshipping Buddha in front of the tower. Thousands of people danced around the tower and celebrated the Dai calendar year by splashing water, chasing and blessing each other.
According to relevant documents, the White Pagoda of Manfeilong was designed by three Indian monks and built by Kubanapi, the buyer of Dalalon. The construction process is also mysterious. It is said that Buddha Sakyamuni traveled to Xishuangbanna and came to Dalong. At that time, there were clouds in the sky, and thousands of green peacocks flew over the dam. In order to celebrate this shining moment, Dai decided to build the White Pagoda of Manfeilong. But where should the tower be built? People are confused because they can't find the right place. When Sakyamuni knew it, he stepped on the big bluestone with his left foot, leaving a deep footprint there, so people knew it was time to build a tower here. There was a glimpse before the footprints. It is said that it was also a hot midsummer afternoon when Sakyamuni gave a lecture. The Buddha was thirsty, so he sent seven boys to fetch water in the stockade. The boys worked so hard that they dried all 33 wells at once. Showing his Buddhist nature, Sakyamuni raised his hand and poked it with a mord, poking a hole 3 feet deep, from which sweet and cool spring water flowed. This Jing Quan became holy water for monks to drink. Because of the famous White Pagoda of Manfeilong, monks from Southeast Asia travel long distances to worship here every year. When they come, they always throw a few silver coins into the footprints of the Buddha. When they leave, everyone will take a gourd of water from the Jing Quan, because it is a gift from the Buddha, which will bring them happiness and good luck. This is naturally just a beautiful legend, because Sakyamuni lived thousands of years before the tower was built, but it showed the Dai people's admiration for the Buddha and their wishes for a better life. Baita has been listed as a national key cultural relics protection unit. In the fourth year of Qin Long in Ming Dynasty (A.D. 1570), Xuanwei Bao Dao, Manle Bazi, Jinghong County, built a Buddhist temple and a stupa at the request of his wife. His wife used to be a princess, known as princess Jinlian, and she was bent on Buddha, so she invited him. Dao built a golden lotus temple on the mountain east of Xuanwei Department, and built this Zhuangmo Tower.
Zhuang Mota is a solid brick tower with a golden bell jar. Its tower foundation is square, with a side width of16.6m and a height of 0.5m.. Buddha statue with a ticket gate on each side. In the center of the tower foundation, the plane of the stupa is circular, with a height of10m and a diameter of 6.3m.. It's a waist-shaped sumeru, and there are many ring ornaments around the waist. The tower is an inverted bell-shaped bowl, surrounded by an oval pattern of 10, with a cone at the top. This tower gate has been destroyed.
Zhuangmota is obviously directly transformed from India's wave-blocking style. The whole tower resembles an inverted cone. From top to bottom, it seems that layers of aura are set off from the distant kingdom of heaven to the world. There is no trace of far-fetched attachment, and the graceful transition between layers makes the viewer move.
Love then rises layer by layer, reaching the extreme. On the broad and flat dam of Nanmanbengzhai in Dongla County, a bamboo fence separates ordinary people from a clean Buddhist field. There stands a stupa in the center of the Buddhist field, shining with golden light in the morning light. This is the Manbengzhai stupa.
Manbengta is wrapped in a copper leather bag, just like Princess A Dai standing demurely and seductively in a golden dress. Because of the bronze clothes, the local area is also called the copper tower. This is a common polygonal tower with folded corners in Dai areas. It does not adopt the usual conical superposition type (like Zhuangmo Tower), but binds the waist between the three towers below to make it have a girlish slender waist. In addition, the folding angle runs through the whole tower from top to bottom, which makes the whole tower tortuous, reminding people of the girls who turned over and danced with the dreamy aluminum accompaniment during the Dai Water-splashing Festival.
According to the "Tower Monument" established in the second and eighth years of Qianlong (A.D. 1763), this tower was built by a man named Tamu Milla in the fifth year of Qianlong (A.D. 1740). After 12, the tower was rebuilt, and the tower was wrapped in copper clothes, which lasted for three years and was brilliant for a while. The inner tower is made of brick The tower height 1 1 m, the base is square and the side width is 5m. This tower is a three-story polygonal pyramid. The first floor is square, surrounded by a temple with vertical double slopes, the third floor is octagonal, and then there are lotus and gourd vases. Lotus petals are carved at the transition between the tower and the pagoda. The tower brake consists of five spheres connected in series on the brake lever, and the brake lever is dispersed. The right branch is tied with an air hammer, and the tower gate is all copper. 198 1 year, after 247 years of wind and rain, the tower was completely lost, and the government allocated special funds for reconstruction. Zhuanglie Mountain is in Jinghong County, and Zhuanglie Tower is built at the top of the mountain. Seen from a distance, this tower is similar to the dense trough tower, but the details are different.
Tower height12m, planar octagon, five-stage base, step by step. The tower is S-class, which is made up of sumeru and divided into towers from bottom to top. The edges of the seats on each floor are engraved with cirrus. The eight sides of the bottom floor are turned into pagodas and portals, and there are no Buddha statues in the stool. There is a clock at the top of the tower, and the tower gate is disabled, leaving only the round lotus flower and four overlapping rings. In Long Ta, it is a late stupa with gorgeous and dazzling decorations. The solemn stupa is painstakingly decorated with hundreds of bright patterns, reliefs and colorful paintings, plus various small square and round mirrors and flashing films, which makes it colorful and full of hedonism. This is also a manifestation of Dai's affluent life and developed economy in modern times. Therefore, Buddhism and custom are spiritually integrated.
This tower is located in Zhalong Buddhist Temple, Mengzhe Township, Donghai County. It is a three-story pavilion with square corners and a height of10m. The base is square, with a high terrace, 4 meters high and 5 meters wide. Each floor of the tower is picked out by thick multi-layer eaves. There is a square window-shaped Buddha leaning around each floor, and a herringbone door curtain is hung above the stool window, which provides a Buddha statue under this solemn protection. The top, bottom, left and right sides of the Buddha statue are covered with lotus flowers and cirrus clouds. These dense patterns are inlaid with dazzling lenses, and the square base at the top of the tower is also covered with lotus reliefs. On the lotus seat is a bronze pagoda, with two overlapping bells under it, and a string of chickens on the lower bell.
Heart-shaped graphics are connected. There is a brake lever on the bell, which is equipped with a canopy, a windbreaker and a wind ball.
The dazzling array of ornate decorations almost crushed the whole tower. Fortunately, the Dai artists who built this tower are extraordinary after all. The whole tower is divided into several large blocks, which are organically connected together. The clarity of levels and the smoothness of lines are not affected by ornateness, thus producing the details under clear and concise modeling, just like a fashionable lady, who is good at heavy makeup and dignified and generous.
