History of Bali Township

Bali Township, formerly known as Qiezihe Township, was named after Qiezihe. Qiezi River is named because its tributary basin is shaped like "eggplant". It was originally under the jurisdiction of Qitaihe District, Boli County. 1March, 956, divided into three townships such as Qiezihe. 1958 merged into Qitaihe People's Commune in September, and merged into Qitaihe Mining Area People's Commune in February of the same year. 1960 March transferred to Qitaihe Town Commune.
