In the PM leadership model, the types of leadership behavior are

Leadership behavior can be divided into four types, namely, pm type, P type, M type and PM type.

Introduction of project management leadership behavior theory;

Professor Miyuki Nibuji, a professor of psychology at Daiban University, put forward PM leadership theory on 1958 through a lot of investigation and measurement on the basis of previous theories on leadership behavior.

The PM theory of leadership behavior means that leadership styles can be divided into two categories:

1, one is performance-oriented leadership, referred to as P-type leadership;

2. The other is the maintenance-oriented leadership style, referred to as M-type leadership.

3. Both are called PM theory. ?

The behavioral characteristics of P-type leaders are to lead the attention of every member of the organization to the goal, clarify the problems, draw up the working procedures, and evaluate the work results through professional evaluation. ?

The behavioral characteristics of M-type leaders are to maintain harmonious interpersonal relationships, mediate disputes among members, provide opportunities for group members to speak, promote members' consciousness and autonomy, and enhance mutual understanding and communication among members.

In order to measure the project management characteristics of the subjects, a project management function questionnaire was designed. The questionnaire was compiled from eight aspects: work motivation, treatment satisfaction, enterprise health care, mental health, collective work spirit, meeting effect, communication and performance scope, and was divided into five grades. Mark the score obtained by the subject in two-dimensional rectangular coordinate system to determine the PM type of this person. In order to achieve the accuracy of measurement, three-dimensional survey methods such as self-evaluation, mutual evaluation, lower-level evaluation and higher-level evaluation can be used to correct the deviation of self-evaluation.

Leadership behavior theory is a theory to study the effectiveness of leadership, and it is one of the hot spots in management theory research. The factors that affect the effectiveness of leadership and how to improve the effectiveness of leadership are the core of leadership theory research. The research results of leadership theory can be divided into three aspects, namely, leadership trait theory, leadership behavior theory and leadership contingency theory.

Because the theory of leadership characteristics ignores the needs of subordinates, fails to show the relative importance of various characteristics, lacks the distinction between cause and effect, and ignores situational factors, it is unsuccessful in explaining leadership behavior. The theory of leadership behavior focuses on the influence of leadership's work style and behavior on leadership effectiveness. The main research results are as follows: K. Lewin's theory of three leadership styles, R. Likert's theory of four management styles, leadership quad diagram theory, management grid theory, leadership continuum theory and so on.

These theories mainly classify leadership behavior from two dimensions: caring for people and caring for production, and controlling by superiors and participating by subordinates. These theories have achieved limited success in determining the consistent relationship between leadership behavior types and team work performance. The main disadvantage is the lack of consideration of situational factors that affect success or failure. The relationship between leadership behavior and leadership effectiveness obviously depends on situational factors such as task structure, leadership member relationship, leadership authority and subordinate's leading demand. The theory of leadership contingency makes up for this defect, and puts forward that the effectiveness of leadership depends on situational factors, which can be separated. Its research results include Fidler contingency model, situational leadership theory, path goal theory and leader participation model.
