It is of great significance to build a tourism ring road in western Yunnan and turn green mountains into Jinshan Yinshan to promote the economic and social development of the border mountainous areas in western Yunnan, especially to help the deep poverty-stricken areas such as Nujiang and Diqing get rid of poverty and develop with high quality.

The "connection" of tourism resources in western Yunnan

Among them, the Great Ring Road in western Yunnan is 1.600 km long, and six small ring roads with a total length of more than 800 km are laid in the Great Ring Road, with a total area of about1.654,380+0.98 million square kilometers, covering the world-famous three parallel rivers, Gaoligong Mountain, Shangri-La, Tea-Horse Ancient Road, Xanthium Scenery, Yulong Scenic Area and Nujiang Grand Canyon. The altitude difference in the region ranges from more than 700 meters to nearly 7,000 meters. There are not only rich climate types and natural landscapes from tropical to alpine areas, but also rich and colorful national culture and human landscapes.

In recent years, Yunnan has continuously and deeply promoted the "trilogy" of the tourism revolution of "rectifying chaos, smart tourism and returning goods without reason" and achieved remarkable results. However, the tourism industry is far from achieving the effect of "phoenix nirvana". The reasons are that the supply of new formats and new products is insufficient, innovation is insufficient, and the problem of "relying on the old capital" in the whole industry is prominent. By building the Great West Yunnan Tourism Ring Road, we will actively cultivate new formats and develop new products, inject new vitality into Yunnan tourism, promote the rebirth of tourism, and realize the second upgrade of Yunnan tourism.

Various projects go hand in hand.

Degong Highway is the main road from Deqin to Gongshan in the Great West Yunnan Tourism Link, which is magnificent and dangerous, and also provides convenience for promoting the development of the Great West Yunnan Tourism Link. To promote the construction of tourism circular line, the first thing to be solved is the construction of infrastructure such as transportation.

Since the start of the construction of the tourist ring road in western Yunnan, Yunnan has actively built a four-level tourist transportation system with the ring road rapid transit, self-driving tourist routes, scenic spots and ecological hiking routes as its contents. At the same time, it also promotes the comprehensive construction of 88 different types of outdoor tourism products in six categories: hiking, upstream, rock climbing, self-driving cross-country and low-altitude flight. At present, 38 key characteristic tourist towns, 18 high-standard tourist resorts, 7 5A-level scenic spots, 17 4A-level scenic spots, 120 various tourist camps, more than 300 boutique hotels and no less than 2,000 high-standard tourist homestays are being built in the Great West Yunnan Tourism Ring Road.

Among them, the traffic is advancing rapidly at present, and the traffic ring line in western Yunnan has been initially connected. Walking into the snowy grassland, strolling through Cangshan Lake and Erhai Lake, riding the Nujiang Gorge, overlooking the three parallel rivers, staying at the Mid-levels Hotel, experiencing hot springs and enjoying natural oxygen ... At present, on a traffic loop, you can initially realize the travel experience of "walking fast and swimming slowly".

Vigorously promote the construction of Mid-Levels Hotel

Since April, 2020, on the basis of promoting the construction for one year, under the decision of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government, there has been a new arrangement for the construction of the tourism circular line in western Yunnan: on the basis of the original circular line in northwestern Yunnan, Yunnan plans to add a 1600 km "Kunming-Yuxi-Honghe-Pu 'er-Xishuangbanna-Lincang-Chuxiong" tourism circular line in southwestern Yunnan, thus making the tourism circular line in western Yunnan.

In the next step, Yunnan will make every effort to build a transportation system with expressway as the main body, especially to accelerate the construction of expressway along the border. By further weaving the expressway network, the overall development foundation of the western Yunnan tourism link will be built.

In addition, at the second meeting of the Leading Group for the Construction of Great Western Yunnan Tourism Circle held in Tengchong in March this year, Yunnan clearly stated that it would vigorously promote the construction of mid-range hotels in accordance with the idea of "natural resources+health and wellness+entertainment facilities". According to Ge Yi, the head of the planning expert group of the Great West Yunnan Tourism Circle, Mid-Levels Hotel will be the core carrier of the "healthy living destination" and the "fist" in the tourism products of the Great Circle.

The so-called Mid-Levels Hotel is a hotel built on the advantages of tea gardens, terraces, rainforests, flowers, hot springs, canyons, snow-capped mountains and grasslands. Most of these hotels are built on the mountain and live by the water, which are collectively called "Mid-level Hotels". According to the deployment of the Yunnan Provincial Party Committee and the provincial government, Mid-Levels Hotel will focus on the requirements of highlighting nature, ecology, small scale and low density, and integrating architecture with natural landscape, vigorously support chain hotels and implement a chain operation mode of separating ownership and management rights. At the same time, issues such as project construction and ecological environment protection will be reviewed and controlled at the provincial level.

Promoting the construction of Mid-Levels Hotel is not only helpful to promote the transformation and upgrading of Yunnan's tourism industry, but also an important measure to deal with the aging of Yunnan's tourism products, insufficient innovation and insufficient supply of new formats. At present, the planning, design, bidding, investment and part of the project construction of Mid-level Hotel on the tourism ring road in western Yunnan are being actively promoted.
