Quanzhou Bridge

The Quanzhou Citong Bridge is a key construction project of the Fujian Provincial Government and the Quanzhou Municipal Committee. One of the key projects of the municipal government for private affairs, it adopts the internationally accepted BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) method for construction. With the approval of the Quanzhou Municipal People's Government, the operation period of the Citong Bridge is 30 years (including the construction period). After the expiration of the period, it will be handed over to the state free of charge. The total project investment is 250 million yuan. The bridge is 1,530 meters long, 27 meters wide, with 2,285 meters of connecting roads and 2,400 meters of ramps, including 620 meters of the north approach bridge and 600 meters of the south approach bridge. The main bridge type is 91390 continuous steel frame prestressed bridge. The whole bridge is parallel to 6 lanes. The central green separation belt is designed to have a daily traffic volume of 25,000 vehicles, and a 500-ton fat-body ocean ship can pass under the bridge. The construction scale of the Citon Bridge is magnificent and it is currently one of the largest highway bridges in Fujian Province. The bridge project was fully constructed on May 18, 1995. It was completed and successfully opened to traffic on November 18, 1996. A grand opening ceremony was held on December 28, 1996. It was officially put into operation on December 29.

The Quanzhou Citong Bridge was designed by the Fujian Provincial Transportation Planning and Design Institute, constructed by the Second Navigation Engineering Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation, supervised by the Bridge Construction Supervision Company of the Ministry of Railways, and implemented by the Fujian Provincial Transportation Infrastructure Project Quality Supervision Station for government supervision .

Quanzhou Citong Bridge is another new channel across the Jinjiang River. After completion, it will serve as the second cross-river channel of National Highway 324 to divert transit traffic. It will be connected with the current Quanzhou Bridge, Citong Road and Baozhou Road* ** Together form the circular traffic on the north and south banks of Jinjiang River, which greatly alleviates the traffic congestion and tension in Quanzhou City and improves transit and regional transportation conditions.

The construction of Quanzhou Citong Bridge used a small amount of state-owned funds to guide a large amount of private enterprise funds to invest in infrastructure, solving the problem of insufficient funds of the local government. This investment model, which focuses on the private economy, pioneered the construction of private economic investment infrastructure in our province. It is also a successful example of my country's adoption of BOT investment and financing methods and investment system reform, and provides a reference for the reform of my country's investment and financing system. This new investment model has been fully affirmed by the State Planning Commission and highly praised by the People's Daily. The construction of the Citong Bridge has received care and support from leaders and relevant departments at the national, provincial and municipal levels, and has also won widespread attention from all walks of life.
