A running account about Nha Trang
Pang Toutuo went to Nha Trang to bask in the sun for a few days. His friends asked many questions, so he decided to write a travel note and reply to all curious friends. This travelogue is just a record of personal experience, and may be used as a reference for ordinary people who don’t often go abroad. As for experts who have traveled around the world, they can just close the page...
Most of the time in Nha Trang Soaking in sea water is of little reference value to everyone. I can’t tell you how happy I am about soaking in sea water, right? That is called sharing your happiness, which is a very deplorable behavior on the Internet. Let’s report it with some useful information from the seven aspects of basic necessities, food, housing, transportation, travel, shopping and entertainment.
1. Clothing
When going to Nha Trang in summer, the clothes are very simple. You can wear whatever you wear here and go there. Nha Trang has no four seasons, only summer. The clothes of the locals are also very simple. In order to protect themselves from the sun, they basically wear clothes from head to toe. They are quite thick. If you are not afraid of heat stroke, you can learn from this. If you are afraid of heat stroke, you can only apply the highest value of waterproofing on your whole body. Sunscreen and sunglasses are essential.
Since you are going to soak in the sea, remember to bring a swimsuit, and it is best to wear sandals that can go into the water, because most of the time you will be walking around the water's edge.
Three sets of clothes are enough. The sun in Vietnam is very strong, and the clothes will dry in a short time. Of course, it doesn’t matter if you insist on bringing more clothes. There are often Chinese girls wearing heavy makeup at the beach. They never go into the water, they just wear various fashions and take endless selfies, constantly trying to repair the heavy makeup that is worn away by sweat. This all belongs to another species and has nothing to do with normal clothing.
Men must bring a set of clothes with sleeves. If not, you can just buy sleeves. Sleeveless clothes are not allowed to enter the restaurant in slightly more upscale hotels. Fat Toutuo only brought one. I was going to throw away the T-shirt after wearing it, but I was stopped at the door of the restaurant. I had to pick up the discarded T-shirt from the trash can and put it on... As for women, it probably doesn't matter. Anyway, the moment Fat Tou Tuo was stopped for wearing a vest. , several Russian patrons entered the restaurant half-naked, and the doorkeeper turned a blind eye.
2. Food
The food in Nha Trang is lackluster, whether you are traveling in a budget self-guided tour or a luxury five-star group tour, whether you are going to a roadside food stall or a six-star In the buffet restaurant of a high-end hotel, this has nothing to do with the level of the chef or the grade. It is entirely a matter of eating habits. The more authentic and high-end the Vietnamese meal you eat, the more difficult it is to swallow.
The hotel’s breakfast is quite sumptuous, and the strong Southeast Asian style makes you realize what it means to spend thousands of dollars a day but have no place to eat. An old lady with a Changsha accent simply showed off the spirit of visiting an agricultural expo. Break off a small piece of each and taste it, and try it all the way. Looking at her shaking her head and frowning, it reminds me of the poem by Master Hu Shi: Success in trying has never been achieved since ancient times.
Fortunately, the fried rice can fill you up - the Taiwanese braised pork rice served in the morning at Mangqing Hotel is pretty normal, just a little on the sweet side.
The streets here are full of food stalls, and the food stalls are also full of colorful tourists. Looking at the way they nod frequently, you can’t help but try it, but after trying it, you just feel It can be a deep disappointment.
As people of the Kingdom of China who have been fed by Chinese cuisine, our stomachs cannot tolerate all kinds of strange spices and incredible preparation methods, such as grilled lobsters that are as tough as styrofoam, and The fried squid is as big as the palm of your hand and is eaten in one piece. The Western food here is also full of Vietnamese flavor. The six-star buffet on Pearl Island will make you want to die. It feels like the previous concept of Western food has been subverted.
It is popular to use various spices in cooking in Southeast Asia. Curry mint leaves are the most normal flavor. There are also many grass roots and leaves of unknown origin and suspicious appearance, which emit various unknown and powerful smells. I don’t know what they are. It’s not that I drank too much sea water while swimming, but everything I eat feels bland. As for the oil, it’s almost invisible. I suspect that Vietnamese people don’t wash their bowls after eating.
When I was eating a buffet at a six-star hotel on Pearl Island in Nha Trang, before every meal, I would pretend to pray silently: God, please strike with thunder and chop this bullshit master to death. Well, even if you don't chop them to death, you can chop them into pieces... Look at the mess on these more than a hundred plates.
Praise to Titan. No matter which restaurant you go to, the desserts are still good. At least there is no weird taste added to the sweetness. The fruits are average and there are not as many varieties as expected. The locals can eat passion fruit in one sitting. A few of them, Fat Toutuo was defeated after just one taste. His forehead dripped with blood. It was more sour than vinegar.
Bringing your own is a solution, but the customs prohibit the entry of meat such as the Ledian Three Brothers’ caviar jerky, so you can only use chopped chili and pickled beans to resist for a while.
3. Accommodation
It may be because of the five-star cluster reported that it is very comfortable to live in this area. The highest hotel in Nha Trang (it is the highest floor, not the highest grade) is called Mang Thanh. On the seaside, there is only a road between the hotel and the beach. You can go into the sea wearing swimming trunks. The sea view, beach and sea water are first-class. It can be seen that the Vietnamese government attaches great importance to tourism. The beach is very clean. Here I I saw the only two policemen I saw throughout my entire trip to Vietnam, patrolling on bicycles.
It takes courage to cross the road. Countless 50CC motorcycles shuttle across the street at lightning speed. However, for a Changsha native like me who has been tested by electric vehicles for a long time, this is just child's play. There are beach chairs for rent and drinks sold on the beach. It is necessary to put a Vietnamese dong in your swimming trunks. It is no wonder that the Vietnamese dong is made of plastic, which is indeed an advantage at the beach.
There is a road in front of the hotel that runs through a 20-kilometer-long beach. There are a lot of things sold on the side. Let’s put it this way, except for the sunshine and sea water, everything else is not comparable to the relatively developed county-level cities in our country. Up and down is by no means the remote and wild place you imagined.
Tipping is not yet popular in Vietnam. Just put 10,000 dong on the pillow every day. As for other times, if you give it to them, they will accept it with a smile. If you don’t give it to them, there will be no complaints. Fat Tou Tuo listens. Rumor has it that I only brought a room card to the beach. After eating, I found that I had no money to pay the bill, so I had to ask a young man to follow me to the room to get the money. The journey was not close, and the young man smiled all the way and gave a tip of ten yuan in RMB. The young man was overjoyed and thanked him again and again... Times are really different. You must know that twenty or thirty years ago, this young man was definitely a member of the People's Army. Those who destroy all foreign bastards cannot help but sigh that peace is so good.
Of course, the most luxurious place in Nha Trang lives on Pearl Island. It is known as a six-star hotel, which is comparable to the five-star hotels in China. There are not many people on the private beach, so you can take a dip at any time. After eating the Southeast Asian-style western food that you must dress up for, you can find a place to take a nap under the coconut tree and slowly digest the exotic spices, raw onions, cabbage, radish, and chowder of various flavors. It is really a joy in life.
The five or six swimming pools in the hotel are connected together. It is a paradise for children and selfie lovers. The children's happiness is the most real. When I saw that when checking out, almost all the children were Exhausted, he fell asleep and was held by an adult.
The sea view room is also invincible. The only drawback is that you will be woken up by the sunlight outside the window early. It gets up very early here and the sunlight is very strong.
The sea water is very good, not even the level where broken shells accumulate on ordinary beaches. Fat Toutuo caught a crab in the sea, and he clamped his fingers very fiercely and held on, pulling and tugging at it. We took a group photo and released it later.
4. Travel
Since I am a novice in going abroad, I will explain it in detail one by one. First of all, you must have a passport. The visa to Nha Trang is extremely simple and clear. When traveling in a group, you don’t need to think about anything. You just hand your passport to the border guard uncle at the airport and smile silly for a few minutes. Due to my recent busy work, I am very tanned. The border guard uncle may think that he is an African who is trying to impersonate his name. After leaving the country, I scrutinized it for a few more minutes and finally passed it OK.
Charter flights may look the same on the outside, but they are very different on the inside. There is no first-class cabin, and the seats are densely packed. The angle of the back of the chair must never exceed 15 degrees. It is not recommended for those with lumbar and cervical spine problems. It might just be a bulging lumbar disc when you get on the plane, but you'll probably be paralyzed when you get off the plane. A three-hour flight is no joke.
As soon as I got on the plane, I encountered something that greatly enhanced my national prestige. The English of the Vietnamese flight attendants was extremely bad. Even I, a semi-illiterate in English, could tell that the tone was wrong. However, what Tianxia Airlines said was It doesn’t matter if you don’t understand those few sentences, just ignore them. Besides, there will be Chinese explanations with even weirder tones next.
The little gray plane flew to Vietnam in three hours. On the way, I kept wondering whether the Vietnam People's Army fighter pilots had switched careers to civilian aviation. In short, they were fierce in both takeoff and landing. It wasn't until they arrived in Vietnam that I I found out that a European was the captain.
Cam Ranh Bay Airport is the second smallest airport I have ever seen, only slightly larger than Wuyishan Airport. The entrances and exits are side by side. Entering the country was very simple. It was just like going through the security check when flying. A border guard wearing a captain's shoulder badge looked at me as usual, stamped me and let me go. However, my passport left me and I didn't see it until I returned home. I guess it was The travel agency took it away because they were afraid that our generation would cause mischief in Vietnam.
Nha Trang is not big, with two roads, one and one. Naturally, you need to take a bus when traveling with a group. There are always the same points to get around. There are also a lot of taxis. It’s just a matter of where to go. I have been struggling with the taxi driver for a long time. Baidu and Tencent Maps, which are very powerful in China, do not have images here, but Google Maps does. Unfortunately, the place names are all in Vietnamese and I can’t understand a single word.
It is convenient for English experts to ask for directions here. Most people can understand English. As for whether you can understand their Vietnamese English, it is a matter of two questions. Fat Tou Tuo tried to ask for directions in Chinese English. In a one-on-one challenge of Vietnamese English, everyone was talking and gesticulating enthusiastically, but after a lot of struggling, they still didn’t know anything. However, there are only two roads in Nha Trang. As long as you remember the name of the hotel, you can go there without any loss.
Speaking of things, I want to talk about the order in Nha Trang. The tour guide always likes to describe this place as scary as the Amazon jungle. The speeding gang and the Broken Hand Party are rampant. I hope everyone has finished eating. After dinner, stay at the hotel and sleep. In fact, the order in Nha Trang is very good. Things are not cheap, but there is no phenomenon of people trying to rip off customers. Passers-by are also very enthusiastic, and the store owners do not see forced buying and selling. They all smile when you look at it. For example, Fat Toutuo has traveled to all the major five-A scenic spots in China. He had a fight with a hawker in Zhangjiajie. A policeman pointed a gun at his head in Tianya Haijiao Park. He almost opened a movie with locals in Shaoshan. I saw someone selling cut cakes on the streets of Changsha. People who have seen a lot and experienced hundreds of battles, when they arrived in Nha Trang, they almost felt like they were in a country of gentlemen. They couldn't see the brutal and ferocious faces of the Vietnamese invaders as they imagined.
In fact, the most convenient way to travel in Nha Trang is to rent a 50CC motorcycle. It is common for foreigners to drive past foreigners and local girls with a silly smile on their motorcycles. It is convenient and flexible. Unfortunately, this thought was severely stopped by the Vietnamese tour guide, who was afraid of something happening. I couldn't help but curse, the people of this small country have never seen the majesty of my electric car in Changsha. I have survived there, how can you count these shabby cars as nothing?
When I returned to China, I was sprayed with disinfectant several times on the plane. It seems that the international bacteria in Vietnam are really serious.
5. Tour
The best way to visit Nha Trang is swimming. As for the streets, there is really nothing to swim in. There are a few so-called attractions, such as churches, pagodas, etc. It's not surprising. When the Vietnamese tour guide talked about this and that scenic spot with excitement, I secretly despised it. I really haven't broadened my horizons. If it weren't for the great Cultural Revolution, there would be so many cultural relics of this level in our country that I wouldn't be able to give you a few. no problem. However, after a hundred years of war in Vietnam, it is indeed not easy to preserve this thing. I can understand their pride.
In addition, there is a four-island tour. The itinerary is complicated and the project is simple. There is not even a place to take a shower after diving in the sea. It is not recommended at all.
Therefore, the key to a trip to Nha Trang is swimming. With such sunshine, beach and sea water, is it possible to do it on the shore without getting in the water? However, there is a trick to basking in the sun. The key is to bask evenly. Fat Toutuo went into the water wearing a vest. As a result, his limbs were black and his body was white. With the sunglasses mark on his face, he looked like a panda.
Speaking of swimming, the best place is of course the beach of the six-star hotel on Pearl Island. It is wide, flat and clean. The sea water has three colors, like bright emeralds. Seeing such good water, how can you swim there? Can you bear not to go into the water?
However, the six-star price of 1,610 days is not something everyone can bear. The beauty of Nha Trang is that most hotels are on the beach. The difference is just a few more steps. As for walking a few steps, Nha Trang is indeed a paradise for sea bathing lovers.
6. Shopping
Let me start with a crooked poem, written by Pang Toutuo
Diaodiao hands, gaigai go,
Taobao Tian What's wrong with cats?
What can’t be bought?
Sunshine and Seawater do not include free shipping.
Fat Toutuo left empty-handed and returned empty-handed. He bought some cashew coffee or something on Taobao and pretended to be a Vietnamese visitor to make gifts for his colleagues. The domestic products arrived before he could return home.
Fattoutuo has an opinion. This specialty is just like seafood. As long as the output is high and the taste is good and can be transported, you can buy it in Mawangdui. If you can’t buy it in Mawangdui, it’s because the output is too high. It's small because it's inconvenient to transport, or it tastes weird. Therefore, it is unwise to buy a lot of things to go home, so you can enjoy some sunshine and sea water. As for food, it is more reliable to bring it back in your stomach. Besides, all fresh food, such as lobsters, squid, etc., are prohibited by customs. , if Vietnam Customs does not confiscate it, Changsha Customs will also confiscate it, so there is no need to bother with this matter.
Vietnam does have specialties. For example, the ao dai worn by Vietnamese women is sexier than the cheongsam. Girls with slim waists and long legs look even better when wearing it. The top-quality ones are not cheap, costing two or three dollars. Thousands of dollars, but unfortunately it cannot be worn as daily clothing in Changsha. It can only be hung on the wall to make handicrafts, or occasionally worn out on the street as a performance art.
As for various snacks and drinks that are local specialties, there are many supermarkets on a small road parallel to Haibin Road, where locals go shopping. The prices are very cheap, and some are cheaper than those near the hotel. Nearly half.
7. Entertainment
Changsha is the city of entertainment. There is everything for fun. If you want to experience exotic customs, you can go to the bars and coffee houses in Nha Trang at night. Toutuo went to a place similar to a restaurant and bar. There was food, drink, and a band singing. The band was about the same as Phoenix, so it’s not appropriate to go into detail. Anyway, I couldn’t understand Vietnamese songs. I don’t know if they were out of tune. As for eating and drinking, it was still Southeast Asia. The more you eat, the hungrier you get.
However, the quality of the cafes is good, with first-class facilities and first-class services. Some are just under a big banyan tree. That kind of atmosphere is indeed not found in Changsha. Some are holding up parasols on the beach. , blowing the sea breeze, listening to the sound of the waves, sipping coffee and listening to incomprehensible Vietnamese tunes, it is a very romantic feeling.
The foreign wine in Nha Trang is cheaper than that in Changsha, but the taste is more mellow. I don’t know if it’s an illusion. In short, the types are similar to ours, such as red label and black label, Jack Daniel’s Jim Beam, Chivas Regal Hennessy, and beer. This is a world dominated by Heineken and Tiger Brands. Heineken advertisements are everywhere, as well as Vietnam’s local Saigon and 333 beers. They all have a strong taste, but the lighter Budweiser is nowhere to be seen.
Vietnam also produces something similar to liquor. It is available in all supermarkets and is not expensive. It tastes like nail polish remover for women and is said to be brewed from bananas.
There is an amusement park on Pearl Island, a marine-themed park, amusement facilities similar to Fantawild, and some water sports such as parasailing. Tourists and locals gather here. If you stay at a hotel on Pearl Island, the amusement park and other activities are free, but you have to queue up. It is recommended to go early in the morning or at night to avoid the peak tourist season.
Next is the question that all wolves are most concerned about.
Pang Toutuo has never seen the chimney-less industry, a specialty of Vietnam that has been praised as amazing. Some people say that this magical entertainment activity cannot be seen by anyone who goes with a group or takes his wife. Pang Toutuo I am traveling with my wife and I can be said to be transfixed, with an upright face like a secretary who went to inspect the countryside. Therefore, there is nothing to report to my curious friends as to whether this magical entertainment exists or not. Sorry sorry.
When I went to take a mud bath, the tour guide said with a mysterious face that the mud bath also has a private room service, which costs 3,000 yuan an hour. Why is a mud bath so expensive? I think it is something unhealthy and I should definitely reject it.
By the way, Vietnamese girls are really good-looking. They have big eyes, a high nose, and clear facial contours. They have a slim waist, long legs, a graceful walk, and a sweet smile... Sitting so leisurely makes my balls hurt. Looking at beauties in a coffee bar, the scenery is no less than that of the Liberation Monument in Chongqing, except that Fat Toutuo spends most of his time soaking in the water. From the left, he looks like a majestic Russian aunt like a mountain, and from the right, he still looks like an orca. Generally strong Russian aunts don’t have much experience with Vietnamese beauties, so they have nothing to report.
8. Things to note
Well, that’s it for the Nha Trang tour report. Next are some things to note
1. Men must have one piece Wear clothes with sleeves, otherwise you may not be able to get into high-end restaurants.
2. The exchange rate of Vietnamese dong at Huanghua Airport is 1:3100, and the exchange rate at Cam Ranh Bay Airport in Vietnam is 1:3500. You can exchange it as soon as you get off the plane. Although RMB is widely used in the market, high-end hotels only accept US dollars and Vietnamese currency. Shield, so you have to exchange some on yourself.
3. Although good English may bring convenience to communication, it is of little use because you cannot understand Vietnamese English. Vietnamese people have a very special tone when speaking English, and translation software can translate it. If it doesn’t come out, it’s more reliable to use a text translation software.
4. Although the Vietnamese in tourist attractions are very kind, after all, it is a country that has experienced hundreds of years of war. It only chooses the strongest to fight. For example, France, the first army power in the past, tried to dominate the world. Little devil, the United States, the world hegemon, and the People's Liberation Army that dominates the world, so you have to be polite and don't make people angry.
5. The sunshine in Vietnam is strong, and the coast of Nha Trang faces east. If you want to take some beautiful photos of playing in the water, it is usually impossible to do it with a mobile phone. It is best to bring a camera with a hood. , even if you are not that professional, it is best to bring a waterproof camera. Anyway, this time Pang Toutuo’s bad Samsung failed to take any good photos.
6. Before going out, you can buy a Vietnam card on Taobao for RMB 60, which includes 40 minutes of international calls and unlimited Internet access for seven days. This is much cheaper than international roaming.
7. Taobao has all the Vietnamese specialties that can be brought through customs.
8. There is a SPA in the six-star hotel on Pearl Island. Full body and hair care costs 1.2 million VND. It seems cheaper than in China, but don’t go if you are already sunburned.
9. There are motorcycles for rent in the backstreet of Mangqing Hotel. It is not clear what documents are required, and it is very suitable for wandering around the local area.
10. Domestic navigation systems such as Tencent, Baidu and others are not available in Vietnam. Google Maps is available, but you cannot read Vietnamese. Fortunately, the structure of Nha Trang is simple, with one and two streets, so you will never get lost if you know the direction.
11. People with number blindness should be careful, because you can’t count the zeros on the Vietnamese dong.
12. The perfume in the airport duty-free shop is indeed cheaper than in China, and the same is true for foreign wine, but I don’t know whether it is true or false.
13. The name Nha Trang is not well-known, but you may think of another name that is familiar to you, that is Cam Ranh Bay. This is one of the best deep-water ports in the world, and is used by France, Japan, the United States, and Russia. It was once used as a naval base. If you have the opportunity, don't go to those insignificant monuments and visit Cam Ranh Bay.
14. The best way is to travel semi-self-guidedly, find a travel agency to book air tickets and hotels, rent a small motorcycle after checking in, swim during the day and go shopping at night. This is what Fattutuo plans to do next time.
