What cities are there in Jiangsu Province?

Five cities in northern Jiangsu: Xuzhou, Lianyungang, Suqian, Huai 'an and Yancheng.

Three cities in Central Jiangsu: Nantong, Taizhou and Yangzhou.

Five cities in southern Jiangsu: Nanjing (a sub-provincial city), Suzhou, Wuxi, Changzhou and Zhenjiang.

Among the thirteen cities, Nanjing is the provincial capital, referred to as "Ning" for short, and was called Jinling and Jiankang in ancient times. It is the capital of Jiangsu Province, a sub-provincial city, a megacity and the core city of Nanjing metropolitan area. It is an important central city, an important scientific research and education base and a comprehensive transportation hub in eastern China approved by the State Council.

Suzhou, an economic metropolis, is located in the middle of the Yangtze River Delta, in the southeast of Jiangsu Province, bordering Shanghai in the east, Jiaxing and Huzhou in Zhejiang Province in the south, Taihu Lake in the west, Wuxi City in the north and Nantong City across the river. Suzhou is a prefecture-level city under the jurisdiction of Jiangsu Province, an important city in Shanghai metropolitan area and Suzhou-Wuxi-Changzhou metropolitan area, one of the important central cities in the Yangtze River Delta, and a national high-tech industrial base and scenic tourist city approved by the State Council.

I stayed in Suzhou for a while because of my work. Suzhou Gardens, Suzhou University, Yangcheng Lake, Taihu Lake, Zhouzhuang Town and a series of other scenic spots fully reflect the quiet life, ancient history and the characteristics of rain lane water system in Jiangnan Water Town. Like a quiet girl, refreshing and unforgettable.
