Why are there many things like white hair on the quilt cover?

When making new quilts, cotton is often stained.

Generally, there will be some white cotton wool in the new quilt, because when making a new quilt, cotton often sticks to the quilt, which is very fine, so it can't be seen. But after a period of use, these tiny cotton will gather into a ball after friction, and then become some white cotton wool and the like.

Cotton is the seed fiber of Malvaceae, which is native to subtropical zone. The flowers are milky white, turn crimson soon after flowering, and leave a green capsule after withering, which is called cotton boll. There are cottonseed in the cotton boll, and the fluff on the cottonseed grows from cottonseed hulls and fills the inside of the cotton boll. When cotton bolls mature, they split to reveal soft fibers, and when they mature, they are cotton.
