Chengtoushan ancient cultural site belongs to Changde archaeological site, a famous tourist resort.

Chengtoushan Ancient Culture Site is located in the middle of Liyang Plain, on the north bank of Lishui, where prehistoric sites are most densely distributed. Nanyue Village, Chexi Township, located at 10 km northwest of Lixian County, was approved as "National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit" by the State Council in 1996. The site of Chengtoushan ancient city is more than 6000 years ago, which is the oldest, most intact and richest ancient city site found in China. Among them, the rice field site discovered more than 6500 years ago is the earliest and best preserved rice field site in the world today.

Chengtoushan site covers a total area of152,000 square meters. From 199 1 to 1998, 4000 square meters have been excavated. Site culture includes: city walls, gate facilities, early moats and late moats; Residential sites, pottery sites, altar sites, road sites, tomb sites; Ruins of rice fields at the bottom of the city wall.
