Shanghai Tour Introduction "Binjiang Avenue"

Introduction

Binjiang Avenue was built in 1997 with a total length of 2,500 meters. From Taitung Road on the bank of the Huangpu River to Dongchang Road, it faces the Puxi Bund across the river. It is a riverside landscape project integrating sightseeing, greening, transportation and service facilities. It consists of a water-friendly platform, slope greening, semi-underground compartments, and landscape roads. Next to the river, Pudong is full of competition on both sides of the bank. The combination of movement and stillness in the Bund Expo complex gives people unlimited reverie, and an artistic conception of picking up the scenery while walking. It is like a ribbon floating on the east bank of the Huangpu River and is known as the New Bund of Pudong.

Binjiang Avenue Introduction

Binjiang Avenue is located in Lujiazui Financial and Trade Zone, along the east bank of the Pujiang River, starting from Taitong Station Pier in the north to Dongchang Road Pier in the south, with a total length of about 2,500 meters. It is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Shanghai and a place where Shanghainese rest in their free time because it overlooks the Expo complex and Puxi scenery across the Bund.

Compared to the Bund

Compared with the crowds on the Bund, Binjiang Avenue is relatively quiet. In the morning, many local citizens will run and walk their dogs here, and from time to time young people skateboarding and riding bicycles will appear. There are many restaurants and coffee shops along the river. When you are tired, you can sit down, order a cup of coffee, look at the scenery on the other side, and enjoy a leisurely afternoon. Of course, you can also look around the fence, watch the boats coming and going on the Huangpu River, and take some photos. It is pleasant to have some leisurely time. At night, when the lanterns come on, the lights on both sides of the strait are brightly lit, and the coast is endless. Every building is crystal clear and colorful, and the whistle of the giant ship in the river echoes in my ears, looking far and near.

Striking buildings

Binjiang Avenue is mainly divided into three sections. The southern section (Du Fu Section) is a fusion of modern architectural art and fountain square. There is a stone tablet at the entrance with four eye-catching words "Binjiang Avenue" engraved on it. This is the former site of the Shanghai Lixin Shipyard Pier. It has a history of more than 70 years and has been converted into a tourist pier. Therefore, chain railings and giant iron anchors were specially installed in the design. Follow the journey to South Street, where you can see the Aurora International Tower, Pudong Shangri-La Hotel and the Citigroup Tower.

The Binjiang Avenue in front of Zhengda Plaza can be said to be the busiest section. Not only is it home to many restaurants, such as Bollina, Tianshui Love Italian Restaurant, Xu Liu Shan, Starbucks and Haagen-Dazs, but it is also the best place to overlook the Puxi buildings on the other side. The famous Bank of China Building, Peace Hotel, Customs Building, and HSBC Bank Building are all clearly visible, recreating the "Far East Wall Street" of the past. Shanghai locals and tourists alike stop here to take photos. In addition, in the southern section, there is a fully transparent sightseeing hall and a happy square for theatrical performances. There are also theatrical performances here on holidays.

A good place for shooting and framing

The middle section of Binjiang Avenue (Oriental Pearl Section) adopts a layered three-dimensional design. Walking on this avenue with lush flowers and trees, green grass, facing the calm water of the Pujiang River, with the Oriental Pearl Tower in the background, and overlooking the romantic ancient buildings on the Bund, it makes people suddenly feel enlightened and relaxed. There are also many facilities such as fountains, water curtain walls, and open-air music squares. It is also a place where many couples take wedding photos.

In addition, there is a large lawn in the northern section of Binjiang Avenue, which makes people feel suddenly enlightened and relaxed. Flowers and shrubs are embedded in the green grass on the gradually rising slope on one side of the waterfront platform, creating a comfortable and tranquil environment for people away from the metropolis. There is also the Century Peace Bell here, where you can also take photos.
