The beginning and end of the Quan-Zhang War, how did a war that lasted for hundreds of years come about?

It was the struggle for interests between the Quanzhou and Zhangzhou people who took root in Taiwan after the fall of the Ming Dynasty. In the late Ming Dynasty, Japanese pirates were prevalent in the southern Fujian region of my country. In order to resist the Japanese pirates, the local people organized and trained, which is the so-called militia. Most of these militiamen were from Quanzhou, which was the basis of the Quan-Zhang armed fighting. The local training of militias led to the prevalence of force, triggering many unnecessary struggles. After the fall of the Ming Dynasty, the Nanming regime was established in Jiangnan, and these militias in southern Fujian were led by Zheng Chenggong.

Later, people knew that Zheng Chenggong went to Taiwan. A large part of these militiamen from the southern Fujian region followed Zheng Chenggong to Taiwan and settled there.

Zheng Chenggong was not a member of the Qing government, nor did he submit to the management of the Qing government, so when the mainland settled down, the Qing government began to attack Taiwan. After Taiwan was attacked, Zheng Chenggong's forces were wiped out, but not all the soldiers were killed. The soldiers at the bottom laid down their weapons and turned into farmers. The court did not mind. These southern Fujian militiamen who followed Zheng Chenggong laid down their weapons, became farmers, and settled down in northern Taiwan.

The imperial court’s soldiers who attacked Taiwan also stationed here, and gradually settled here. Most of these soldiers who attacked Taiwan were from Zhangzhou, and the conflict between the two parties began. .

Although the Quanzhou people, who are on the side of Zheng Chenggong, and the Zhangzhou people, who are on the side of the Qing government, have become local people after years of development, hatred has been sown. In the following days, the population of both sides increased, and their demand for land and resources increased. Eventually, conflicts of interest occurred and armed fighting broke out. Due to historical hatred, almost all local members of the Quanzhang family participated in the uprising, and the scale was no less than that of a peasant uprising.

At first, the Qing court was still wary. Later, it was learned that the two sides only belonged to the Mao Dun family and were not rebels, so they did not intervene much in the fight between the two sides, and the Quan-Zhang weapon fight slowly continued. A tradition was formed that lasted for hundreds of years. It was not until the late Qing Dynasty that the resistance to Western forces ceased.
