It sounds euphemistic and melodious, including butterfly lovers and Fairy Couple. Modern Huangmei Opera enhances the expressive force of "Pingci" singing in music. Pingci is often used for lyric and narrative, and is the main singing of the original drama. It broke through the limitations of some "coloratura", absorbed the homophonic elements of folk songs and created a new cavity that was integrated with traditional singing. Huangmei Opera, with Gao Hu as the main accompaniment instrument, supplemented by other national musical instruments and gongs and drums, is suitable for performing plays with various themes. Huangmei Opera language is based on Anqing dialect and belongs to Jianghuai Mandarin. Its characteristics are as follows: the lyric structure of the whole drama is mostly seven words and cross-sentences. Seven-character sentences are mostly two, two and three structures, and cross sentences are mostly three, three and four structures. Sometimes seven-character and cross sentences can be used as the framework according to needs, and the number of words can be compressed or expanded, while the tunes mostly use overlapping sentences.
