Four friends went to a poor village in Guizhou and built 10 cabins, witnessing the rebirth of a village.

"Without direct roads and numerous tourist attractions, how can a once poor village have a new life? 」

Walking on the country road in tuanjie village, Guizhou, the fallow team is thinking about various possibilities.

The mountains of tuanjie village.

A natural platform halfway up the mountain

Tuanjie village, a poor village in the mountainous area of Guizhou a few years ago, is surrounded by a quiet natural environment full of wild interest. It doesn't have much cultural background, but it has mountains and waters, and it still retains the original natural atmosphere.

When these architects from Shanghai boarded the platform halfway up the mountain for the first time, they were deeply moved by the scenery before them:

"Going to the edge of the platform, the existence of nature has become so strong. Mountains surround you from all directions, and birds, insects and wind suddenly attack you. There is only one mountain in front of you. When you look at the mountain, the mountain looks at you. 」

They want to leave the feeling of this moment in the architectural space and convey it to more people who come to the village.

Over the past six months, with the joint efforts of the owners and architects, tuanjie village has built a rich agricultural tourism base, including 10 cabins designed by leisure, restaurants, bars and tourist centers.

In the past, all the young people in the village went to work in the city; Now, city people come to the village to eat, drink tea and experience farm work.

There are not only more jobs in the village, but also specialized people to help sell agricultural products. At the same time, every household can get extra dividends at the end of each year.

Overlooking tuanjie village

City residents will even spend an afternoon in the exhibition hall of the village to learn about the history of the village:

How did a once extremely poor village get a new life step by step?

20 17 10, the fallow team came to tuanjie village for the first time.

In the eyes of the old people in the village, these young people from Shanghai are "western-style" city dwellers who can't get used to peppers, can't understand dialects and can build beautiful houses.

Their positioning for their team is that they must be grounded, and they must think about how to find the same language as this village in different backgrounds and grasp the balance.

As architects, their professional lives have also undergone reorganization.

During their years in Master Studio, their high-intensity and high-intensity work has accumulated rich project experience, laid a foundation for understanding the whole architectural field, and gradually made a decision to go their own way.

The leisure building is located in the studio of Urumqi Road.

In the spring of 20 17, they decided to open a studio together-named "fallow".

They rented a small courtyard of 80-90 square meters in the Hutong of the French Concession in Shanghai, trying to find a sense of balance between work and life here and try to slow down the pace of work.

Daily life in Urumqi Road, Shanghai

Shen Hongliang said he liked the living environment around the yard:

"As long as you walk out of the alley, you can see the Shanghai aunt enjoying the cool under the buttonwood tree, and you can also meet the online celebrity miss who is shooting on the street; I just passed a fritter biscuit shop and suddenly saw a coffee shop with exquisite decoration and retro style. All kinds of people gather here! 」

He likes to look for design inspiration from these fireworks.

In architectural design, they also uphold the same concept as life: "The so-called fallow is not to make the land barren, but to let the tired land rest and restore nutrients and fertility. 」

They stressed that the building should leave breathing space, and the design process should constantly reflect on how the power of design is just right: "Sometimes the glamorous space is not as suitable as the introverted and rough space; Sometimes seemingly strange buildings can live quietly with the environment. 」

Tuanjie village's architectural complex is a gentle attempt to make architecture blend into nature and disappear from it.

The Canal on the Cliff of tuanjie village

Tuanjie village is located in the mountainside, with high mountains and steep slopes. Because the land can't hold water, rice can't be planted. Villagers can only crush drought-tolerant corn every day and steam it as a staple food.

Later, Huang Dafa, a village party secretary who grew up eating hundreds of meals in tuanjie village, spent 36 years leading villagers to dig a 9.4-kilometer-long "natural canal" on the precipice with steel bars, hammers and hoes.

When the canal was built, Huang Dafa was 58 years old.

Or take the lead and hang the rope to measure on the cliff.

Bypass the "Tianqu" of Triple Mountain, pass through three cliffs and three dangerous cliffs, and finally introduce the snail river water several kilometers away into the village. As a result, tuanjie village uprooted the root of "water shortage".

Huang Dafa is called a "contemporary fool". The villagers also named this canal Dafa Canal.

Huang Dafa, the village party secretary known as the "contemporary silly old man"

He still lives here, guarding this canal that he is willing to pay with his life.

A villager who participated in the canal repair said that when the clear canal water rushed into the long-dried slope. Huang Dafa quietly hid in a corner, tears kept falling.

Villagers who came to participate in the construction of the site.

It is not enough to grow food alone. To make young people willing to return to the village, they must have economic income and jobs.

As a result, the fallow team that came to Guizhou from Shanghai became the second batch of people who "reclaimed" this land.

For them, tuanjie village is a special project. There are not only touching canal stories here, but also many villagers need to rely on their own buildings to improve their lives. Here, architecture undertakes not only the function of space, but also social responsibility.

Rock steep slope

The difficulty of construction is also obvious: the base of the wooden house is halfway up the mountain, and the mountain road is steep, so all building materials need to be carried up the mountain by manpower. They can only use local materials as far as possible, reduce the size of materials such as glass, and minimize transportation costs.

However, there are "surprises" in rural construction every day, and the design drawings often need to be readjusted according to the site conditions. In addition, the construction period is only a few months, and the fallow team lives in the nearest county farmhouse.

It's just that this "recent" farmhouse has to drive around the mountain road for nearly 40 minutes to get to the construction site. After staying for more than three months, they tried to control every design change.

Stone walls in the village

In terms of architectural form, there is no classic architectural form for inheritance in tuanjie village. This old house used to be built with the most gravel and wood in this area.

Since the 1990s, concrete frame houses with low cost and quick construction period have appeared in the village. There used to be fewer and fewer stone houses.

Construction flow chart

The fallow team decided to use local traditional building materials, such as gravel and wood, to continue the history of the village:

"I hope that decades later, our building will still be a special existence: perhaps its function has changed, but it can still live as a museum, bearing a little memory of the village. 」

From 2065438 to September 2008, the log cabin hotel, Guizhou Dafa Tianqu tourist center, Shanzhong restaurant and bar were successively completed.

In order to minimize the impact of buildings on the environment, all wooden hotels use high-rise steel platforms as the foundation. At the same time, the open design can also reduce the impact of the local humid and foggy climate on the living space.

Muwu hotel

The average area of each wooden house ranges from 40 to 50. In order to meet the rapid construction period, the simplest geometric shape is selected for architectural modeling.

The outer wall of the wooden house is made of dark quenched wood. This material can withstand changeable weather such as wind, rain and sun, and the textured dark color naturally blends with the original appearance of the site.

Each wooden house is not far apart, but the view between them has been fully considered, which can ensure that the two people will not disturb each other when watching the mountains.

The balcony is embedded, which is convenient for viewing and has enough privacy.

Mountain restaurants and bars

Restaurants and bars are also built according to the terrain, with overhead structures at the bottom and single-storey buildings with high and low drops.

The restaurant in the lower part of the restaurant picks forward, so that the line of sight can embrace the mountain view as much as possible; The high poles are connected by stairs, which produces light and shade conversion in the streamline.

When designing the restaurant, the leisure team hopes to introduce the mountain view into the room and add a little space expression, so that the building can respond to the light and climate change.

They use floor-to-ceiling shutters, all windows can be opened, and endless greenery can be seen; Can also be closed, let the sun shine into the room through the blinds, in different time periods, different weather has different light and shadow effects.

Sitting in the restaurant, you can see not only natural mountain scenery and gravel landscape, but also farmland for parents to pick and streams for fishing. Look at the people at the foot of the mountain. People at the foot of the mountain also regard restaurants and bars as scenery.

Dafa Tianqu tourist center

In addition to the log cabin hotel and restaurant bar, there is also a tourist center named after the village canal-Dafa Tianqu Tourist Center.

As the largest public building in the village, the tourist center plays the role of tourist reception, office operation, village exhibition hall and villagers' leisure and entertainment square.

The tourist center is also built according to the mountain situation, using stepped roofs to reduce the oppressive feeling of buildings on the environment, and also echoes the terraced landscape in the mountains.

The further down, the greater the span of the building; Formed an architectural form with a narrow top and a wide bottom.

Reception space

Administration?Area

exhibition room

The total area of the whole visitor center is 3280. In addition to operating the office area and tourist reception area, the interior space also reserves the exhibition hall.

The historical features of the village, the story of the village party secretary leading the villagers to dig canals for 36 years, and the poverty alleviation course of agricultural tourism companies have all been written into the history of the exhibition hall.

Stepped roof

The stepped roof is a square and a stage. As a new community center in the village, you can watch the mountains and water, hold festival performances, or walk and chat here at ordinary times.

The exterior wall of the whole building is all dark stone, which is a common rubble in the nearby traditional residential courtyards, echoing the architectural elements of the original village.

Dark color is easy to blend in with the environment, and it is difficult to make a "network celebrity blockbuster". However, they are more concerned about punching cards than online celebrities: "Do the users of the building feel comfortable? Is it integrated with the environment? And can architecture activate the memory of people living in this land? 」

In fact, after its rebirth, tuanjie village continues to attract tourists from neighboring cities.

If city residents ask villagers where there is fun in the village, they can naturally say, "Go and sit on the roof!" " 」

When the house is built, the story of the village has just begun!

Different from ordinary poverty alleviation projects, tuanjie village has not only carried out drastic infrastructure transformation, but also practiced the follow-up poverty alleviation mechanism based on the principle of "giving people a chance to fish".

Tourist center office area

Villagers not only get paid by joining the construction team in the early stage, but also the follow-up operation of hotels, restaurants, bars and tourist centers can provide long-term jobs for young people.

Many young people who used to work in Zunyi, Guiyang and other places, after systematic training, returned to their hometowns and took up their jobs.

For the villagers engaged in traditional agricultural labor, the owners set up professional agricultural companies to grow organic vegetables, crab rice, rapeseed oil, Chinese bees and northern Guizhou black pigs.

Take "Pig Bee Rice Oil" as the four main agricultural products of Geng Le Sweet Brand and bring it to the shops in the city for sale. Villagers can use their own land or labor to buy shares, and at the end of the year, they can get extra dividends from tourism projects such as hotels.

Tuanjie village's new news is endless: a music festival will be held in the square on the roof today; In a few days, there will be literary fairs and other activities in the village, and the community is full of vitality.

When young people come back, the income of every household has quadrupled, and the village has become more and more lively. Even the expressway to tuanjie village will be opened to traffic next spring.

At that time, I believe that people farther away from this small village will also come to tuanjie village, sit on the roof of Little Square, watch the fog, listen to the birds and the wind, and feel the security brought by the mountains!
