The figures who best embody the spirit of Changsha are: Liang Yi, Yang Shuting, Xu Qian, Xie Weibin, and Xu Jin'e.

1. Liang Yi

Host of Radio and Television Station in Loudi City, Hunan Province. In 2001, 22-year-old female host Liang Yi became paraplegic due to an illness and was forced to leave the stage. Two years later, she stood up again and returned to her hosting position to devote herself to public welfare. The public welfare projects and charity activities promoted by her have benefited millions of people.

2. Yang Shuting

Chengbu Miao girl. A car accident eight years ago left her paraplegic from the chest down. Constantly striving for self-improvement, she opened a window of opportunity through her e-commerce business, helping more than 220 poor households in the county get out of poverty, and 59 disabled people were able to find employment and get out of poverty. In 2019, she also won the only “National Poverty Alleviation Award Endeavor Award” in our province.

3. Xu Qian

Founder of Temple Street Maker Space. His legs were disabled due to illness when he was young, and he continued to strive for self-improvement and founded the "Temple Street Food" brand. While realizing his personal value through hard work, he never forgets social welfare. Through entrepreneurship and financial assistance, he has helped more than 3,000 laid-off workers, families who lost their only child, and lost young people solve their employment problems.

4. Xie Weibin

A doctor from a hospital in Hunan aids Africa. As a TCM physician, he helped open the first standardized TCM clinic in Sierra Leone, allowing TCM to take root in Sierra Leone and successfully treated more than 3,000 Sierra Leone people and local Chinese who suffered from illnesses.

5. Xu Jin'e

President of Aixingtianxia Poverty Alleviation and Education Volunteer Association. Having been engaged in public welfare for 35 years, she has led members to help more than 1,000 poor students in pairs; and she has continuously donated money and materials to left-behind children, special schools, critical patients, and poor families. On the road of public welfare, she is like a bee, collecting honey and giving it away, sending the "sweetness" of life to those in need. She never tires of it and is always on the road.
