There are many hot springs near Chengde, but only Tougou in Chengde County was favored by the Qing emperors and opened as a palace. In Tangquan Village, Tougou Town, which is only 44 kilometers away from Chengde City, there is Tangquan Palace in Qing Dynasty, which was built in the 45th year of Emperor Kangxi of Qing Dynasty (A.D. 1706). Up to now, there are still main halls, gatehouses, Tang Chi, imperial stone tablets, rockeries, fences and other buildings.
