The history of Qiangshutang

The founder of Qiangshutang was Wang Guoxi, a scholar in the late Qing Dynasty. And he named it "Qiangshutang Wine Shop" after his own study name "Qiangshutang". The personal letter "Be a human first, then make wine, the wine is like your character" is engraved on the pillar of the winery as its business philosophy, and quality is guaranteed. Shutang was the best among the many breweries at that time, and soon became a famous wine far and wide.

According to the "Huantai County Chronicle" of the Republic of China: Xincheng County (today's Huantai County) has many wineries. Among the many wine brands in Suo Town, Qiangshutang Winery is the most popular. Passers-by all "stop their cars when they know the smell, dismount when they smell the fragrance", and take pleasure in tasting the fine wine of Qiangshutang. At that time, there was also a popular song in the local area:

Good wine will force you to save the hall; there is a secret recipe for brewing it.

Use raw and cooked ingredients to make koji; the fragrant fermented grains are packed in urns.

The more grain, the better the taste;

Steam the wine twice; store the wine for a long time.

Its color is slightly yellow; it has a faint fragrance of orchid.

Everyone should try it; the fragrance will linger in your mouth for a year.

In 1945, after the liberation of Huantai County, the Third Branch of the Bohai District Administrative Office took over the "Qiangshutang" winery and built the "Hengyuan Hotel". The wineries were all separated from the Wang family, but the hotel The scale remains the same, with 220 formal employees. It produces grain wine using traditional techniques, with an annual output of 300 tons. In 1948, "Hengyuan Hotel" was renamed as Suozhen Main Winery, and branch factories such as Houzhuang, Yanjiaji, Wangbozhuang, and Zichuan were established, as well as branches in Boxing, Guangrao, Linzi, Zhangdian, Qingcheng and other counties. A distribution office was established, and by 1949, the annual output reached 734 tons. In 1996, Suozhen Winery was renamed Huanghelong Group.
