Synopsis of story:

Augustine is a Portuguese who immigrated to France. He has a kind heart and is not good at words. He is an honest man and a persistent fool in the eyes of others. Augustine works in an insurance company and likes to dream of stars in his spare time. Moreover, he is very interested in Hong Kong martial arts films, and he does not hesitate to pay a high price for movie tickets. In order to learn China Wushu well, enter the film and television circle and become a martial arts star like Jackie Chan whom I admire. But China is too far away, so he went to the nearby Chinatown to study martial arts, hoping to learn it on the spot. Seeing the half-tone martial arts that Augustine learned from the movie, the coach laughed and cried, but finally decided to accept this diligent student.

But Augustine has an insurmountable problem, that is, he can't touch people's bodies, and when he touches them, he will faint nervously. But without contact with how to learn martial arts, the result can only be empty. Under the introduction of others, Augustine met the young and beautiful China acupuncturist Miss Ling. In order to eradicate his own problems, Augustine turned to Miss Ling for help. After a period of getting along, Augustine learned about her past. Miss Ling left her hometown and came here because she naturally yearned for freedom. She was very depressed in a foreign land. Under the careful treatment of teacher Ling, Augustine gradually recovered and released his kung fu potential. It also stung his emotional acupoints and slowly penetrated a lonely heart.

Later, they met a China fever novelist who worked in a grocery store and antique shop in China. He taught Augustine Chinese and encouraged Augustine to go to China. This film is another French film starring Maggie Cheung after The Snitch. In the film, she plays an acupuncturist who fled from China to Paris and lived in Paris for 18 months, struggling to survive in the face of a strange culture and language. For Maggie Cheung, one of the biggest challenges of this film is not the length of the plot, nor the characterization, but the whole film should be written well, but it also makes her gain a lot.

The film doesn't insist on Maggie's exotic love affair with French "Mr. Dou", and female directors Anna Fontaine doesn't classify her works as soap opera-style emotional entanglements and sorrows, but endows her with more thoughts brought by cultural differences and yearning for another culture.
