In this marathon, the best result of foreign runners is 2 hours 15 minutes and 20 seconds set by Schell Erikstahl of Sweden, and the best result of China runner is 2 hours, 26 minutes and 3 seconds set by Peng.

At the beginning of the activity, the level was not very high because of its scale and influence. After 1984, more and more world-class athletes came to participate in the competition, and the level of Beijing Marathon rose steadily.
