Sky Eye is a 500-meter spherical radio telescope (FAST for short), which was jointly built by Chinese Academy of Sciences and Guizhou Provincial People's Government during the 11th Five-Year Plan period. This project uses the original design of China scientists and the stable and unique terrain conditions of karst depression in southern Guizhou to build a high-sensitivity giant radio telescope.

According to the Master Plan for the Construction of Supporting Facilities of FAST Project in Guizhou Province, and in accordance with the standards for the construction of urban complexes and national 5A-level scenic spots, the Pingtang International Radio Astronomy Tourism Culture Industrial Park, a special tourism planning project, was built in Guizhou Province, highlighting the thematic characteristics of astronomical research.

Around the five goals of "astronomical science education base, international astronomical culture experience zone, geo-ecological tourism innovation demonstration zone, regional tourism distribution center and international astronomical tourism town", we will build an international radio astronomical tourism destination integrating astronomical science popularization, space exploration, tourism and holiday and cultural exchange.

The first-phase construction projects in the park, such as star-rated theme hotel, Axis Plaza, FAST visitor service center, astronomy experience hall, road network and bridge, have all been completed and put into use.
