Why is Houyan in Dalian called Houyan?

The post-salt in Dalian is called post-salt because salt workers and their families gather around Yantian to live and gradually form villages, and the villages that are closer are called post-salt. Dalian Bay is the largest bay along the Yellow Sea, and the bay is connected with the bay. There are not only natural harbors created by deep water without ice, but also beaches that can only be exposed to the water at low tide. So Jinzhou people built salt pans on the beach to dry salt. Salt workers and their families gathered around Yantian to live and gradually formed villages, so the old Jinzhou people called the village far from the city "pre-salt", the village close to it "post-salt" and a piece of land extending to Dalian Bay in the east of Yantian as "salt island".
