Longquanyi District has a long history and was under the jurisdiction of Shu in ancient times. Longquanyi District is located to the east of the Third Ring Road in Chengdu. It is one of the municipal districts of Chengdu 1 1 and the sub-center of eastern Chengdu. It is the main area of Chengdu's eastward development approved by the State Council, the seat of Chengdu Economic and Technological Development Zone and Longquan District of Tianfu New District. Known as the "Four Seasons Bloom, Eight Seasons with Good Fruits and Fragrance", the State Council is officially named as "the Hometown of Peaches in China".

Longquanyi, a postal kiosk in the Han Dynasty, a postal biography in the Tang Dynasty and a post station in the Yuan Dynasty, was called "post station" in the Ming Dynasty and called "Longquanyi". Dongyang County and Lingchi County were ruled by the Tang Dynasty (Sichuan County Records, Yuanfeng Jiutian Records and Atlas of Chinese History). Lingchi county, named after a spring pool on the side of a mountain in the south branch of the county, is called Lingchi. In the Song Dynasty, it was called "Wangdian", and Lingchi County was changed to Lingquan County. Wangdian is the seat of Lingquan County (Taiping Universe). With the change of county name, Fendong Mountain was renamed as "Lingquan Mountain" until the Yuan Dynasty. In the Ming Dynasty, it was renamed "Longquan" and a post station was set up here, formerly known as "Longquanyi". 1959 allocated to Chengdu Jianxin District, Longquanyi, the resident of the District People's Committee, was still named as "Longquanyi District of Chengdu".
