In 1951, Licun Consumer Cooperative, the predecessor of Laoshan Department Store, was established with 5 employees and a business area of ??20 square meters.

In January 1971, Licun Consumer Cooperative was established and renamed the state-owned Laoshan Department Store, which was the largest department store in the area at the time.

In 1983, Laoshan Department Store was rebuilt into a 4-story shopping mall with a business area of ??5,000 square meters and was renamed Laoshan Department Store.

From 1989 to 1992, Laoshan Department Store purchased new business warehouses, expanding the business area to 6,650 square meters.

In December 1992, Laoshan Department Store underwent joint-stock restructuring and the company was renamed Qingdao Laoshan Department Store Co., Ltd.
