(1) application procedures for one-star, two-star and three-star hotels

1. The hotel applying for star rating shall submit the Hotel Star Rating Application Report in triplicate and a copy of the industrial and commercial business license, tax registration certificate, health permit and fire protection opinions to the local tourism bureau.

within 2 or 15 working days, the local tourism bureau will send star raters to the hotels applying for evaluation to inspect and put forward rectification opinions

2. Within 15 working days, the local tourism bureau will send star raters to inspect the hotels applying for star rating, and put forward rectification opinions

3. The local tourism bureau will make initial evaluation

4. The provincial tourism bureau will organize evaluation and approval

(3) The application procedures for five-star hotels

1. The hotel applying for star rating will submit the Hotel Star Rating Application Report in quintuplicate and its business license to the local tourism bureau.

5. The National Tourism Administration will organize evaluation and approval

(4) The application procedures for platinum five-star hotels

Only hotels that have been evaluated for five years can apply.
