What are the eastern and western cities in China?

2. Tianjin (Oriental City)

Tianjin, also known as Jingu and Jinmen for short, is a municipality directly under the Central Government of the People's Republic of China, a national central city, a megacity, an economic center around the Bohai Sea, the first batch of coastal open cities, a comprehensive transportation hub, a national advanced manufacturing R&D base, a core area of northern international shipping, a demonstration area of financial innovation and operation, and a pioneer area of reform and opening up.

3. Chengdu (western city)

Chengdu is the capital of Sichuan Province, also referred to as Rongcheng and Jincheng. It is a sub-provincial city and a megacity. Located in the west of Sichuan Basin, in the hinterland of Chengdu Plain, the terrain is flat, the river network is vertical and horizontal, the products are rich, the agriculture is developed, and it belongs to subtropical monsoon humid climate.

4. Xi 'an (western city)

Xi 'an, known as Chang 'an and Haojing in ancient times, is the capital of Shaanxi, a sub-provincial city, the core city of Guanzhong Plain urban agglomeration, the starting point city of the Silk Road, the core area of the Belt and Road, an important central city in western China, and an important national scientific research, education and industrial base. Xi is one of the four ancient capitals in China.

5. Lanzhou (western city)

Lanzhou, referred to as "Lan" for short, is the capital of Gansu Province, an important industrial base and comprehensive transportation hub in the northwest of China, one of the important central cities in the western region, an important fulcrum of the West Longhai-Lanzhou New Economic Belt, an important transportation hub and logistics center in the northwest region, and one of the five central cities in the China section of the New Eurasian Continental Bridge.
