In which country was the first Westin Hotel located?

In 1930, two hoteliers in Washington state decided to merge and name the new hotel the Western, the predecessor of today's Westin brand. At that time, Weston was a joint venture between three families; the Thurstons, Dupars and Schmidts. In the 1930s, Weston had 17 hotel locations throughout Washington State, and its footprints could be seen from Seattle to Erford.
