Where is the civil fort now?

Tumubao is a castle, located in Huailai County, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province, China. Civil fort is located in the line from Juyongguan to Datong Great Wall, which is an integral part of the Great Wall defense system.

Mutu Castle is located in the east of Huailai County 10 km, which is a boat-shaped castle. The length of the castle is about 500 meters from north to south, about 1000 meters from east to west, and the wall is about 6 or 7 meters high. The only existing fortress walls are the South Wall and the West Wall. It used to be a brick bag made of earth, but now only the earth wall is left.

In the Ming Dynasty, Yulin Castle, Mutu Castle and Jiming Castle were the three major castles in northern Beijing. 1449, Ming Yingzong personally recruited the Mongolian Walla department, only to be besieged by the Walla army in the civil fort, and the Ming army was defeated, which is known as the change of the civil fort. 1457, after the restoration of British occupation, the Zhong Xian Temple was built in the fort to worship and praise the twenty or thirty Ming generals who died in the civil fort.

Historical events:

In July of Ming Dynasty 14 (A.D. 1449), Warrap invaded the Ming Dynasty. Egged on by eunuchs Wang Zhen, Ming Yingzong and Zhu Qizhen, regardless of the dissuasion of ministers, he rashly led more than 200,000 troops to personally expedition. Due to insufficient preparation, he lost tens of thousands, and 66 ministers, including Minister of War Kuang Ye and Minister of Housing Wang Zuo, died.

More than 500 years have passed, and today's Mutu town can still see several city wall sites that the Ming army relied on to resist. Earth walls several meters high extend intermittently in fields and houses, and some are used as courtyard walls by villagers. These historical sites are still preserved today.

There is also the Zhong Xian Temple, which can "tell" that history. It was built in the Ming Dynasty to worship the soldiers who died after the "Civil Fort Rebellion" and was destroyed and rebuilt several times.

There are still three halls and some inscriptions. From the locked door in the middle of a hall, we can see that a sign with the introduction of Zhong Xian Temple and a sign with the title and name of the late minister are filled with water pipes, farm tools and other sundries.
