Hotel Management System Based on B/S Architecture

abstract

Modern hotels have a huge organization, many services and a large amount of information. In order to improve labor productivity, reduce costs, improve service quality and management level, and then promote economic benefits, modern information management must be carried out with the help of computers. Hotel management system is designed for this purpose.

In this graduation project, I use Java and MVC framework mode to develop and use Oracle database. It inherits the advantages of Java's "WriteOnce, RunAnywhere" and can run in any system. In the process of designing the system, I designed the corresponding functions of the module according to the user's level (administrator, desk clerk, cleaner).

The website adopts Jsp application development technology, and has some functions such as room reservation and check-out, especially relying on the advantages of java to better manage the hotel. Stability, expansibility, safety and robustness are the advantages of hotel management.

The database adopts Oracle9i, and the system adopts simple Hibernate and JDBC as the data interaction mode with the database. Struts is for the Web layer to better control jumps.

Hotel management system has broad market prospects and rich profit returns. But in fact, the hotel industry itself has already entered the era of meager profit or even loss. Coupled with fierce market competition, the profits of individual software developers are not as good as before, which leads to the elimination of some developers with insufficient strength. Hotels that use this system have to replace the software system because they lost the technical support of the original developer, thus wasting investment. On the one hand, there is no self-discipline subject in the whole industry, and the state does not have a certain evaluation mechanism and corresponding hierarchical system, so that some absolutely unconditional companies can enter the market and participate in the competition. On the other hand, there are various investors in the hotel industry at present, and they don't know enough about the importance of software. They either chose the wrong developer, or abnormally lowered the price, resulting in damage to hotels and regular software suppliers. Of course, there are many information systems and products involved in the hotel industry, but the lack of unified industry standards makes all suppliers coordinate with each other, which on the one hand causes waste and incompatibility of resources, on the other hand hinders the improvement of the overall level and cannot fully meet the needs of hotels.

In modern hotels, in order to efficiently manage room resources, customer information and settlement information, the hotel has formulated a series of management systems. By managing information, we can understand the changes in details of each link, make effective countermeasures in time, and change all links of information, which is conducive to improving the efficiency of hotel management.

We will adopt a hotel management system with B/S structure. According to the standardized business process of national star-rated hotels, we will use mainstream development tools to develop and build a relatively stable, reliable and safe server to assist customer management. We will also use the mainstream database oracle to achieve test results through test cases, and the technical support will be completed by using lightweight frameworks struts and hibernate persistence. We will use tomcat as the server to design the data model, laying a solid foundation for the conceptual design stage and detailed design stage of the initial business process [2].

Although computer management is not the key to the success of hotel management, it can play an accurate, fast and efficient role to the maximum extent and provide strong support for hotel management. Therefore, the adoption of brand-new computer network and hotel business management system has become a means to improve the efficiency of hotel management, enable operators to interact flexibly with the management system, realize the smooth connection of workflow, help hotels manage their business effectively and release the maximum value. Hotel business management system can not only save the cost of human resources, but also improve business efficiency and meet the needs of customer service in time, accurately and quickly [4].

Therefore, the informatization construction of hotel business has become a standard for customers to measure the service level of hotel providers, and the information system has become the foundation.

With the further development and popularization of Internet technology, it can no longer meet the needs of world economic development and China's national economic construction. The existing commercial hotel business software system in the market is meeting the needs of developing hotels. The overall design goal of WEB-based hotel management system is to establish a perfect, efficient and reliable hotel business information system and provide a good information environment for hotels.
