Brief introduction of clear lake

Clear Lake is the largest lagoon in China and the second largest lagoon in Asia.

Clear lake is located in the center of Shanwei, east of Shanwei Port. Covering an area of about 22 square kilometers, it is a famous natural lagoon because the bay is closed like a lake. During the Late Glaciation, seawater invaded the valley drowning bay formed by the depression between Shanwei and Shahai granite, which was semi-closed as a "lagoon" due to the development and eastward extension of large sand dikes along the Red Bay. With a water area of about 23. 16km2 and a coastline of 39.62 km, Pinclear lake is the largest coastal lagoon in Chinese mainland and the second largest lagoon in Asia, which contains Dinggai Lake and Yuzi Island. The famous "tongue of the sea sand" and the vast Pacific Ocean form the barrier of Shanwei Port in the south. Clear lake is blessed with natural conditions, a natural shelter from the wind, an important fishery breeding and salt-producing area, a "life lake" in Shanwei Port, and known as the "mother lake" in Shanwei. However, with the acceleration of urban development, the increase of urban population and the lag of urban sewage pipe network construction, most domestic sewage and industrial wastewater are discharged into clear lake without treatment. The disorderly overexploitation of marine resources and the lack of scientific planning in urban construction have led to serious pollution of coastal waters in clear lake, degradation of ecosystems and poor integrity and systematicness of lakeside landscape. The Shanwei Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government attached great importance to the ecological environment of Pin clear lake, clearly put forward the article "Make clear lake a living product", and began to implement the comprehensive management project of Pin clear lake. The goal is to build Pinghu into a comprehensive marine park, port shipping area, artificial island and marine scenic tourist area on Yuzai Island, an ecological corridor connecting Shanwei City and Shanwei Port, and form the main landscape of Shanwei City.

Clear Lake-Shanwei Mother Lake

Clear lake is the largest inland lagoon in China, covering an area equivalent to the four West Lakes in Hangzhou. In the future, clear lake will be the new orientation of Shanwei central city. With Wanfu Gold Coast, Shanwei Wansheng Yinhu Bay, Shanwei Railway Station, Avenue of Stars, Honghai Middle Road, Country Garden, Hongjingyuan and Industrial Avenue as the background, Pinclear lake will be the gathering point and traffic radiation center of Shanwei's leisure, entertainment, industry, tourism and electronics industries.

Shanwei Golden Ribbon-clear lake Flood Control Project

On September 29th, 2009, a groundbreaking ceremony was held for the flood control (tidal) continuation project of Pin clear lake at the construction site of Kugou Port, Tung Chung, Shanwei City. The project starts from Kugou Port in Tung Chung and runs along the southeast coast of clear lake to Fort Village in Xingang. If this project is successfully completed, a golden ribbon will be formed around clear lake along the coast of Shanwei Port, adding a beautiful landscape to Shanwei New Town.
