The sustainable development strategy formulated by the State Council and the "Three Green Projects" recently launched by the State Economic and Trade Commission put forward requirements for the sustainable development and environmental management of the hotel industry in China. At the same time, due to China's accession to the WTO and Beijing's successful bid for the Olympic Games, international exchanges have become increasingly frequent, and green consumption has gradually become the mainstream of future consumption. To this end, China Hotel Association also issued the "Green Hotel Standard" in 2006.
Compared with the Quality and Equipment Requirements of Star Hotels issued by National Tourism Administration in July 1996+0 1, the green hotel standard puts forward new requirements for the configuration of disposable toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap and other products in guest rooms. The specific provisions are as follows:
Disposable room supplies such as toothbrushes, combs, soaps and slippers, and guest cotton fabrics such as towels, pillowcases, sheets and bathrobes should be replaced according to customers' wishes to reduce washing times.
Change (use degradable materials), simplify or cancel the packaging of guest room home and bathroom products.
Hotel operators usually ignore some extra costs besides the product cost when purchasing disposable room supplies. Such as: water plugging, water use, flushing times, etc. This is also to be considered when purchasing.

The main factors affecting the quality of toothbrush are the quality of bristles and the grinding rate. Daily toothbrushes are usually replaced once every three months. Even toothbrushes that have not been polished will form "natural polishing" after a period of use, while disposable toothbrushes are usually only used for 2-3 times. If the quality of bristles is not good or the grinding rate is not enough, it will cause damage to the mouth. Therefore, the quality standard of hotel toothbrushes must not be lower than that of daily toothbrushes.

China is a country with serious water shortage, and it is one of the water-poor countries in the world with 13 per capita water resources. Water is also one of the most important operating costs of hotels, and how to save water is a concern of every hotel.
There is an inkjet printer on the market that costs only 100 yuan/set, but when you run out of consumables to buy ink cartridges, you find that the price of an ink cartridge will even exceed that of the printer. Similarly, although shower gel equipped in many hotels is very cheap, the hot water consumed in a bath is several times the value of the shower gel itself.
Note: when choosing bath and shampoo products, you need to consider the degree of water consumption, that is, how much water can be used to rinse thoroughly. We are not blindly pursuing bubble richness.

At present, the hotel industry is most concerned about whether six small disposable consumables should make concessions for environmental protection, which has been implemented in some cities. Before the relevant departments have issued a document to cancel disposable supplies, it is necessary to mention the reasonable control of disposable supplies in daily work. The hotel has nearly 20 kinds of disposable consumables. Are these 20 kinds what the guests need? I don't think so. I believe that everyone has found the following situations:
1, toothbrushes are usually packed with toothpaste, which is a waste for guests who continue to stay. Generally, the toothpaste for toothbrushes is 6g, once in the morning and once in the evening. Toothbrushes can continue to be used, but without toothpaste, a set of dental appliances will be dismantled, because this relationship invisibly increases the consumption of disposable products, which is neither energy-saving nor environmentally friendly.
Suggestion: 1) Put the toothpaste separately (because it has its own packaging, it doesn't need to be treated separately) to reduce unnecessary waste.
2) Specially provide 45 g-60g brand toothpaste for rooms staying for more than three days.
2. The sewing kit in the guest room has low utilization rate and is also very wasteful. According to statistics, the hotel uses 742 sewing kits a year, including internal use. Moreover, there are few cotton threads for sewing packages, and there are as many as five colors. If one thread is not enough, you need to open another bag and throw it all away with one needle.
Suggestion: prepare a sewing box in the housekeeping center, which contains enough cotton threads of various colors, different types of needles, hand protectors, small scissors and so on. Guests can provide free rental service when necessary, all needles and other items can be reused, and disposable sewing bags in rooms are cancelled.
3. The small soap provided by the guest room is an essential item in the bathroom for guests to wash their hands or small clothes. But in most cases, guests can't use a whole bar of soap, and some even take it apart to wash their hands. The value of recycled soap is greatly reduced because of its small size and poor cleaning effect.
Suggestion: 1) Use reusable hand sanitizer bottles instead of soap and put them in guest rooms to reduce waste and improve hotel grade.
2) If guests need to wash small clothes, they can provide paid small bags of brand washing powder in the bathroom to enhance the cleaning effect.
4. The utilization rate of female guest bags is not only low, but also meaningless. It is recommended to remove it.
5. Envelopes placed in guest notebooks are divided into ordinary envelopes and airmail envelopes, but the annual usage is less than 65,438+000, which is partly caused by the damage of guests when browsing. Nowadays, the channels of communication with people are not only diverse, but also fast, and the era of letters has passed.
Suggestion: Place envelopes in public areas of lobby and business center. If guests need it, they can help themselves. It is not necessary to put it in the guest room.
In this way, the use cost of disposable articles in hotel rooms can be reduced from the original 17.48 yuan to about 16 yuan. In addition, in addition to reducing the types of unnecessary disposable items in the guest room, we also need to pay attention to the inventory method of disposable items. Now the hotel adopts short-term inventory forecasting method, that is, according to the usage of last month and the booking of this month, the purchase amount of disposable supplies this month is set, and the general cycle is one month or two months, not more than three months. The advantage of short-term inventory forecasting method is that it reduces inventory and is more flexible, and it will not cause some items that are not easy to keep to deteriorate and expire. In order to reduce the reported loss rate of some perishable items, quantity control was carried out in the procurement process. In the off-peak season, the purchase of disposable goods should be differentiated according to time, with less purchase in the off-season and stocking in advance in the peak season. In this way, the financial department can free up part of the working capital for other purposes, and there will be no shortage and soaring prices in the peak season.
Attention should also be paid to the preservation of disposable goods, and the second-class warehouse of housekeeping department should try to choose a dry place to store items. The hotel once put the second-class warehouse of housekeeping department in the basement, which was not suitable and was not conducive to the preservation of items. In June, there was a phenomenon that soap was moldy and matches were wet and could not be used.
In addition to the above objective factors can reduce the use of disposable supplies, the control methods of these consumables are as follows:
1, clear responsibility. The chief engineer's right to use disposable goods should be taken back to the regional foreman, and it is stipulated that he should get it from the secondary warehouse once a week. According to the booking situation next week, the regional foreman will collect the items left over from each workshop as appropriate.
2, according to the standard distribution. The distribution quantity of each workshop takes the average consumption of goods in a week as a fixed storage quantity, and is distributed to the famous product area according to the distribution of 10% as the mobile quantity.
3. Strict application system. When receiving the goods, the person in charge of each area must fill in the remaining quantity of each kind of goods last week, and make a detailed registration of the received quantity this week and sign it for confirmation.
4. Implement the reward and punishment system. According to the actual monthly occupancy of each building, the actual usage of disposable items in each building is counted, and the usage is equipped according to the hotel disposable items standard. If it exceeds the standard, 10% will be punished. At the end of the year, count the number of applications and actual use throughout the year, and reward employees with 10%- 15% of the saved amount.
5. Take stock in time. Implement the system of small dishes a week and big dishes in January, and keep abreast of the consumption of all items.
6. Managers pay special attention to the saving and reuse of commodities, make the best use of them and give full play to their maximum use value.
