New rules for hitting people over 60

Legal liability for beating an elderly person over 60: 1. Those who beat the elderly over 60 years old and cause minor injuries shall be detained for more than 10 days and less than 15 days, and shall be fined more than 500 yuan and less than 1,000 yuan; 2. Whoever beats others and causes minor injuries shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not more than three years, criminal detention or public surveillance; 3. Whoever hits someone and causes serious injury shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not less than three years but not more than ten years.

Legal objectivity:

Article 234 of the Criminal Law shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not more than three years, criminal detention or public surveillance. Whoever commits the crime mentioned in the preceding paragraph and causes serious injuries shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not less than three years but not more than ten years; Whoever causes death or serious disability by particularly cruel means shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of not less than 10 years, life imprisonment or death. Where there are other provisions in this Law, such provisions shall prevail. Article 43, paragraph 2, item 2 of the Law on Public Security Administration Punishment, who beats or hurts disabled people, pregnant women, people under the age of 14 or people over the age of 60, shall be detained for more than 10 days and less than 15 days, and shall also be fined more than 500 yuan and less than 1,000 yuan.
