Day 8-Mohan Port

After a long journey of more than 400 kilometers, I finally arrived at Mohan Port at the southernmost tip of the southwest of the motherland.

Mohan Port is connected with Mo Ding Port in Laos. It is the only national first-class port in China and Laos and the southernmost land border town in China. Because I want to go to Laos by car, I never dare to invite an informal tour guide, so the navigation leads directly to the public security entry-exit reception desk at Mohan Port. The staff received us patiently and told us it was best not to go, because it is the rainy season in Laos, with no previous scenery and blocked roads, which is not the tourist season. We followed the guidance of the staff and left the office building.

Out of the office building, a few hundred meters ahead is the "ASEAN Avenue" in front of the port. The name is very loud, but it is actually just a small street about 300 meters long. There are many shops on both sides of the street, the landscape trees are lush, the flowers in the isolation zone are free to open, and people and cars are orderly.

Crossing this famous ASEAN Avenue is the southernmost gate of China and Yunnan. I am proud and excited to see the national prestige of the people of China hanging high above the national gate and the five-star red flag fluttering in the wind beside the national flag platform.

I went to the exit and immigration respectively, and found that it might be affected by the weather and it was extremely deserted.

The original plan was to arrive at Mohan before going to work. After completing the formalities, the plan to visit Laos was forced to be cancelled. So I wandered around. Under the door of the country, I saw a middle-aged elder sister selling bodhi, dragging half a frame of bodhi with a tricycle, brushing the fine foam on it with a brush and chatting with several young people. We looked at the time very early and joined the chat team without rushing to find a hotel.

We introduce ourselves as go on road trip, from Hubei; Three young people, one from Luoda, Yunnan (also a port in Xishuangbanna, Class II), one from Zhanjiang, Guangdong, and one from Laos. They are playing with Sister Bodhi's Bodhi necklace and various postures.

Sister Bodhi is really a talkative and capable woman. I heard that we want to go to Laos. She talked about Laos and became a freelance commentator. She said she couldn't go recently. A dam broke. We have a friend whose favorite thing is to pay attention to news and study news, so the interface said, I know this, the news report is dead 100 people. The elder sister said with a smile that a driver who came to Laos came back and said that 100 people were missing and many people died, so he stopped reporting it (informal gossip, of course, is not credible). She also talked about the economic situation in Laos, saying that Laos is very poor and many projects there are supported by our country. For example, supporting school-age children in Laos to go to school, free lunch, shuttle bus and so on.

China and Laos are neighbors linked by mountains and rivers, and the friendship between the people on the border between China and Laos goes back to ancient times. Besides, the Belt and Road Initiative contributes to the relationship between China and Laos. At present, China has become the largest source of foreign investment, the largest donor and the second largest trading partner of Laos. 20 15 China-Laos Railway construction started smoothly. China helped the Lao government solve its financial problems, as well as its technical and construction problems. Also last year, the Laos-1 communication satellite developed by China for Laos was successfully launched, and the economic and trade cooperation between the two countries reached a new height.

So at Mohan Port, we saw the "ASEAN Avenue", the border people's mutual market, the Southeast Asian trade market, and Laos cars walking in the streets. This is a testimony to the friendship between China and Laos.
