Tell me about Longshou Village in Xi 'an.

Childhood Memories, Distant Years (1)

The story begins with the demolition and resettlement of my family 58 years ago.

/kloc-in the summer of 0/960, the straw house where my family lived in the city was demolished, and the government placed it in Longshou Village, a new community on the east side of Longshou Garden, two kilometers away from the central axis of the city. It is estimated that my family may be one of the first large-scale demolition and resettlement households in Xi 'an and the first batch of new residents in Longshou Village.

According to the situation at that time, Longshou Village was quite luxurious and upscale. There are some two or three-story buildings around, and there is a row of bungalows inside, which is as beautiful as children's colorful paintings. The house is a row of two households and four households, and several rows are the same. The style is particularly novel and exotic, and the layout is patchwork. Some of them are exotic, just like the conjoined villas in western architecture, which are obviously different from the traditional architectural style in China. It is said to imitate the architectural style of the Soviet Union. Rows of houses are blue bricks, red tiles and sky blue eaves. The gray vertical ridges built by cement sand and ash on both sides of the roof are particularly beautiful and eye-catching against the red tiles. There are grass-green glass doors and windows, blue brick floor and independent kitchen. The walls of the indoor ceiling are white and equipped with electric lights. There is also a urinal connected to the path in front of the house. Some houses have rectangular flower beds in front, and a row of houses have faucets in front. Even public toilets are designed with different shapes and characteristics, without duplication. If you have a bird's eye view under the blue sky and white clouds, it must be a large luxury tourist resort with today's vision and language. At that time, Longshou Village was undoubtedly the most beautiful and eye-catching landscape in the north of Xi 'an!

Looking around, it's brand-new and beautiful! It is unthinkable that ordinary people at the bottom can live in such a new house. Neighbor aunt said that the houses of the rich owners in the village were not so advanced before ... what a magnificent, luxurious and high-end house it was at that time!

When I grew up, I once asked my mother why so many people in my family only gave me a room and a small kitchen. Mom said that it was not so troublesome to divide the house at that time, and said that the new house for you must be bigger than your current house, so we agreed to move in. As for which community and room to allocate, I don't know how big the house is. On the day we moved here, the housekeeper showed me several sets. A house with three rooms and a kitchen really suits our family. When I asked about the room rate of more than 7 yuan, your father's salary in January was only 46 yuan. How can I live? I said that the room was too expensive to live in, and people changed it to a two-bedroom one with a kitchen. The room is almost 6 yuan, but it is still expensive. Later, I got a room with a kitchen where I live now, which costs more than 4 yuan a month. I live in the kitchen and put the pot head outside, which can save 1 more yuan a month. I asked my mother, can I have more rooms? Mom said it seemed possible. The housekeeper is eager for you to have a big room. Why is this? Mom said that not many people could not afford a house, and not many people moved in at that time. Mom said that at that time, few people competed for a big house, and the poor all wanted a small house. Not long ago, I talked with several young people about this topic. My old partner who is over 60 years old said that his family had a similar experience of having a small room without a big room. You know, money was very useful at that time. 1 yuan can buy 10 Jin of soy sauce, a pile of radish and cabbage, and a penny can buy a piece of fruit candy.

During the period of 1975, when I was unemployed, the housing management asked me and two other unemployed classmates to help her with the housing census and filing work in the third district of Longshou Village, including the data and floor plan of each household and each row (building), and we did it for several months. Through this door-to-door investigation, I got the above knowledge and concepts. I learned that in order to accommodate more relocated households, the housing management office may split some large-sized houses, such as a three-bedroom 1 kitchen (there seems to be no living room at that time) into two sets. After this division, two houses can be arranged, so some rows have eight households. According to the design, the original loose and scattered houses were divided into dense and crowded residential areas, and there were many cases where two * * * shared a kitchen.

I remember talking to my mother more than 20 years ago and talking about moving in those days. I asked my mother if she didn't want to move her office in those years, and if there were any nail houses. Mom said she hadn't heard of it, and all the people above moved here. This time, that time, we can see how simple and easy the demolition and resettlement was at that time.

I was 4 years old when I moved, and I was still an ignorant kid. When I moved, I sat on the top of a shelf full of things. I was so happy that I didn't have enough eyes all the way. I looked around as if I were celebrating the New Year. When I arrived at Longshou Village and saw the new world in front of me, I couldn't help dancing with joy. I squatted on the doors and windows that smelled of paint and sniffed deeply. I think it's delicious and I think a new life has begun. I didn't know the concept and consciousness of environmental protection at that time. I didn't know the smell of paint was toxic before, but I felt very good. I often put my nose on it in the future. I am a complete idiot. As for what's new, I don't know, let alone say for sure. Anyway, a milestone change in my family is to start replacing kerosene lamps with electric lights.

Aside from the topic, it has always been a mystery to me why Longshou Village was built, when it was first built, and why it was built so beautifully and with such a high grade. When I grew up, I heard that Longshou Village was originally a family area built for the city. People were too desolate to come, so they were given to relocated households (at that time, the north of Longshou Village was still a crop field). There is no way to verify the truth of this statement, but according to logical analysis, the residential level at that time was generally low, so it was not easy to build such a good house to resettle the relocated households. It should be a little special. That row of beautiful villa bungalows is enviable even today. Now, the rows of beautiful bungalows have passed away, and may never reappear, but they can only be engraved in the depths of my mind.

At that time, the scale of Longshou Village was one of the few large residential areas in the city. The village is divided into eight districts: east, west, north, south, southeast, northeast, southwest and northwest, with about a thousand households and thousands of people. The infrastructure of this large residential area is relatively complete, including shops, coal shops, food markets, grain shops, schools and a large nursery. Every spring, all kinds of saplings are distributed to residents free of charge. A few years away, Longshou Village is also lush and beautiful. These were all good at the time.

As for whether we are the first relocated households in Xi 'an, I think it may not be. Because Xi 'an, as the capital, especially the location of Northwest Bureau at that time, could not be dismantled from 1949 to11960. Theoretically, there should be sporadic or small-scale demolition and resettlement, but I think it may be the first batch of large-scale construction like Longshou Village, which resettles relocated households in batches.

In the years since we moved here, there have been more and more people in Longshou Village. The Housing Bureau built houses in some originally idle places, which broke the original pattern and made this already dense community more crowded. Compared with the old house, the new house is different in appearance and grade. In this way, it still can't meet the demand of the rapid population growth for houses. In recent years, almost every household has built various "houses" (in fact, there are sheds) in front of and behind their houses, and Longshou Village has completely changed. The original beautiful appearance has been in blowing in the wind, and what you see is a dilapidated shanty town. Since the 1980s, demolition has started again, with bungalows demolished and six-story buildings built. In recent years, a new round of demolition is about to begin. I heard that it has been registered door to door, saying that this area will be included in the Tang Daming Palace Ruins Park, and supporting residential scenic spots will be built.

Longshou Village, a place full of my childhood and adolescence, I lived here for 32 years, and I didn't leave until the early 1990s when my unit was divided. I spent my whole primary and secondary school career in Longshou Village, leaving behind memories and memories that I can't finish writing in a few books.

Today, Longshou Village has undergone earth-shaking changes and has become "unrecognizable". I don't know. High-rise buildings have sprung up, and businesses and shops compete with each other. It looks like a new city, so I, an old villager in Longshou Village, can't find the north when I walk in again.

Childhood memories, distant years, they are so unforgettable and unforgettable. All along, I have the desire and impulse to talk about Longshou Village, but there are many tedious chores, because I can't find the original information, so I dare not write it. The content of this article is a collection of memories that I personally shared with several people who grew up together in Longshou Village. Inaccuracies and mistakes are inevitable, so please be honest.
