Mingzhu Lake Park is located in the southwest of Chongming Island, the third largest island in China. It is the largest natural freshwater lake in Chongming, bordering Qinglong Port in the north and separated from the Yangtze River by a dike. Originally a tributary of the south of the Yangtze River, it was built artificially in the 1970s. At present, the whole park covers an area of 6,500 mu, including 3,000 mu of water area. The north of Hunan is more than 3,500 meters long and the east-west width is 500-700 meters. The lake is rich in grass, silver carp, carp and bream. After testing, the atmospheric environment quality is national level I and the water quality is national level II.

The water conservation forest built around the lake amounts to 2,500 mu, and nearly 800,000 rare trees such as Cinnamomum camphora and Magnolia grandiflora are planted in the forest, and a large number of wild flowers, weeds and natural vegetation are preserved in the forest. In addition, the dense forests and dense river networks around attract many 70 or 80 species of birds, such as silver gulls, herons and egrets. There is a water speeder in the scenic spot. Now three water docks have been built, and two motorboats, three speedboats, 1 yacht and 10 battery boat have been purchased. There is a 50-meter-long hydrophilic corridor in the park for tourists to enjoy the lakes and mountains.
