Shawan ancient town was founded in the Southern Song Dynasty. It is an ancient town of Lingnan culture with a history of more than 800 years. It is rich in historical and cultural resources and enjoys a high reputation among folk arts in southern China.

Shawan ancient town has formed and retained Lingnan culture with traditional historical culture and folk culture as the main body, and is an outstanding representative of Guangfu culture with the Pearl River Delta as the core.
