The historical legend of Zhuangyuanhong

During the Chongzhen period of the Ming Dynasty, famines occurred in Shanxi for five consecutive years. Food stocks were exhausted and villagers fled everywhere to survive. There was a couple in Linfen, Shanxi, the man was Chen Gui and the woman was Yulan, and they lived in Xiguan, Shangcai. The couple learned the craft of wine-making in their hometown, so they built two straw huts at the intersection of Xiguan Road and started a wine-selling business. The couple was loyal and kind-hearted, and they were honest and responsible in doing business. Their business was booming for a while. There is an old locust tree in front of the small hotel. Its branches are withered. Chen Gui takes a glass of wine and pours it on the ancient locust tree every day. As time passed, the ancient locust tree actually gave off a strong aroma of wine.

One day, Chen Gui found an injured old man in his 50s lying under an ancient locust tree. He hurriedly helped the old man into the house, wiped the wound with wine, and then brought two side dishes to accompany the old man to drink. After the old man recovered, he said goodbye to Chen Gui and his wife. The next year, the old man was in good spirits and came to thank Chen Gui and his wife. He said that his surname was Cang and he was alone. He was willing to help them make wine to express his gratitude for saving his life.

Since Uncle Cang arrived at the hotel, the water in the tank was always full, sweet and fragrant, and the wine produced was red in color. Chen Gui and his wife were surprised. One night, Chen Gui and his wife were surprised to find a blue dragon spraying water into the tank, which was slightly red in color. When Canglong saw that Chen Gui and his wife found out, he told the reason: "I am a righteous Canglong. Because I was framed by the evil dragon, I was punished by the Jade Emperor to suffer in the world. I see that the world is better than heaven, and I don't want to go to heaven again. You and your wife If you are hardworking and kind, let's live together forever." Chen Gui and his wife were surprised and happy after hearing this. The next day, Uncle Cang disappeared, and a deep well appeared in front of his door. The color and taste of the well water were exactly the same as the dragon liquid in the vat. At this time, Chen Gui and his wife understood that Uncle Cang did live here. Later, Chen Gui and his wife decided to use Uncle Cang's "dragon" as the name of their wine, and the sign in front of the door was changed to "Longquan Red Wine".

This incident reached the ears of the Jade Emperor. The Jade Emperor was very surprised, so he sent his heavenly soldiers and generals to the human world to get "Longquan red wine" to taste as a commemoration. After tasting it, the Jade Emperor praised: "It's really more beautiful than the jade liquor at the Peach Festival." From then on, this wine was drunk at the Peach Festival every year.
