20 10, 10 Japan Lighting Industry Association (JELMA) formulated the standard of "L-shaped straight LED lamp system (for general lighting)" (JEL801:201on October 8, 2065. As a substitute for straight fluorescent lamps commonly used in office buildings, straight LED lamps are increasingly expected. Although there are Korean-made direct LED lamps on the Japanese market, the manufacturers involved are centered on small and medium-sized enterprises, and the main lamp manufacturers have been slow to launch their products because there is no standard. The formulation of this standard will promote the popularization of straight tube LED lamps.
In the aspect of straight tube LED lamps, it has been pointed out that there are problems in compatibility, brightness, weight and safety of lamps. This time, the standard has added something that can eliminate these concerns.
Specification parameter analysis
These values are specified for a clear reason. For example, the luminous flux of 2300lm is determined by considering the actual use of dozens of lamps. Compared with the 40W fluorescent lamp under the same setting conditions, this is the luminous flux required to obtain the same illuminance. Moreover, "the luminous flux does not exceed 70% in the range of 120 degrees" is a place that must be paid attention to. Its characteristic is that the light can fully reach the part above 120 degrees. Some lighting fixtures use reflective plates to obtain the desired light orientation, so it is difficult for such lighting fixtures to use only bright lamps directly below the lamps. In addition, if the light does not reach around the lamp tube, it will be uncomfortable because the wall is dark and the light is directly below. In order to prevent this, this condition must be met.
At present, among the straight tube LED lamps, the most prominent one is the product with higher vertical illumination, which is no less than that of fluorescent lamps. This standard takes all aspects as well as fluorescent lamps, and there is no difference in use. For example, for products used to replace 40W fluorescent lamps, it is stipulated that the luminous flux of white straight LED lamps should reach more than 2300lm during daytime, the color rendering index should reach more than 80, and the luminous flux should not exceed 70% of the whole in the range of 120 degrees.
In the standard setting stage, the affiliated enterprises of JELMA put forward the opinion that the conditions are too strict. The conditions set by this standard are technically very high. But if you don't do this, it will appear in the use of lamps that are worse than fluorescent lamps. LED is still in the process of development, so this value is set to improve the efficiency and brightness of LED in the future.
The process of standard setting
The lamp tube must first ensure safety and compatibility. At present, most of the straight tube LED lamps on the market need the power supply construction of lighting appliances, or directly install the straight tube LED lamps on the fluorescent lamp seat. In terms of power input, there are both products that are input from both ends of the lamp like ordinary fluorescent lamps, and products that are only input from one side. In this case, the compatibility of lamps is impossible.
However, the tube mouth is still the same as the straight fluorescent lamp "G 13" type. Therefore, consumers can easily connect LED lamps to incompatible lamps by mistake. Moreover, in Japan, the lighting appliances of G 13 lamp holder have various styles, from the old to the latest. Because of the different power supply circuits, it cannot be said that any lighting appliance can use LED lamps instead of fluorescent lamps.
At present, there are not many straight LED lights on the market, and sellers can still teach consumers to use them correctly. However, after the circulation of this lamp increases, this service level cannot be maintained and consumers are likely to misuse it. There are hundreds of millions of lamps on the market. Even if the accident frequency caused by misuse is only ppm, dozens of accidents will occur every year. JELMA cannot guarantee the safety of all straight fluorescent lamps that can be connected to G 13 lampholders.
Therefore, we decided not to adopt G 13 lamp holder model when formulating the standard of straight LED lamp. Changed it to an l-shaped lamp holder. In this way, it is possible to prevent the straight tube LED lamp from being wrongly connected to the lighting appliance using the straight tube fluorescent lamp.
Characteristics of standards
It is not only suitable for a single lamp tube, but also suitable for lighting systems using straight LED lamps. The system has four characteristics. First, the power supply circuit is arranged outside the lamp tube to provide direct current for the lamp tube. In other words, a single lamp tube saves the power supply circuit and becomes a DC drive. Secondly, the L-shaped lamp socket is adopted. Then the lamp holder can be replaced. Finally, the lamp is powered from one end face (unilateral power supply).
The biggest reason for external power supply circuit is to improve the luminous efficiency of straight tube LED lamp. At present, the brightness and efficiency of LED lamps should not be lower than that of 40W straight fluorescent lamps. Changing the power supply circuit to external mode is considered to increase the freedom of optical design in the lamp tube and improve the brightness and efficiency.
The purpose of changing the lamp holder with L-shaped lamp mouth into replaceable design is to ensure high safety even if the lighting equipment is used for a long time. No matter what kind of light source, the lamp holder can't avoid deterioration after long-term use. After changing the lamp holder into a replaceable design, the long-term use of lighting appliances can be guaranteed.
The purpose of changing to unilateral power supply is to improve the safety when replacing LED lights. If electrodes are arranged at both ends of the LED lamp, even if one electrode is connected to the lamp holder, touching the other electrode with bare hands will cause electric shock. By concentrating the electrodes on one side, the danger of electric shock can be avoided. In addition, although both ends of the straight fluorescent lamp have terminals, the electrodes at both ends will be electrified only when they are connected to the lamp holder, so there is no need to worry about electric shock.
It has also been pointed out that the straight tube LED lamp is in danger of falling. How did you consider this point when setting the standard this time?
Indeed, the 40W-class products in fluorescent lamps are only 200g, while there are products with straight LED lamps weighing more than 600g on the market. LED heating will lead to the bending of the lamp tube, which may cause thermal shrinkage during use, accompanied by the danger of falling. Without standards, consumers will be worried when using LED tubes for a long time.
Therefore, this standard specifies the thermal shrinkage note 1) and bending note 2). Compared with fluorescent lamps using glass, most LED lamps using resin materials are easily affected by thermal shrinkage and deflection.
Note: 1) This standard stipulates that when the ambient temperature difference is 50 K, the change of the distance between the lamp tube and the lamp socket should be controlled below 2.0 mm. ..
Note 2) This standard stipulates that the deflection caused by the weight of the lamp tube itself is below the central part 10mm.
Some people pointed out that LED products have the problem of "flicker".
For the current waveform flowing in the lamp, we stipulate that the fluctuation amplitude should not exceed 1.3, precisely to prevent flicker. Volatility refers to the numerical value calculated by taking the average current flowing in the lamp as the denominator and the change of current value as the numerator. If this value is set to the maximum value 1.4, the current flowing in the lamp will be close to zero periodically. If it does not exceed 1.3, this phenomenon will not occur. In addition, we also specify that the period of the waveform is higher than 100Hz.
How long did it take to formulate this standard?
About 1 year. In 2009, under the name of "Promoting the Correct Popularization of LED Lighting-Problems and Countermeasures", JELMA released a comparative investigation report on the performance of the best-selling direct fluorescent lamps in the market, and took this opportunity to summarize and put forward relevant standards. JELMA's member companies have been engaged in the development of lamps for many years. Although LED is a new type of light source, these enterprises can make a rough guess on the possible problems after it is cultivated into a lamp tube based on the experience of existing light sources such as fluorescent lamps. These experiences have been fully utilized in the formulation of this standard.
