Dubai replica of Taj Mahal

In October 2012, Dubai announced that it would spend 665 million pounds (approximately RMB 6.8 billion) to replicate the Taj Mahal in India. The replica of the Taj Mahal is not only five times the size of the historical original, but will also include a shopping mall, a five-star hotel with 300 rooms, as well as other service facilities such as serviced apartments and bridal shops. It is hoped that the new Taj Mahal project will attract newlyweds to come for vacation or weddings.

This construction plan, known as "Taj Al Arabiya", is part of the "Dubai Theme Park" launched by the Dubai developer "Link Global Group". In addition to being completely modeled after the Taj Mahal, Taj Arabiya also includes a five-star hotel with 300 rooms and two serviced apartments. Taj Al Arabiya is expected to be completed in 2014 and will be located in the center of "Falcon Wonder City" on Emirates Road.
