Huazhu’s first urban resort hotel, Huajiantang, lands in Beijing

Huajian Tang’s first urban resort hotel under Huazhu has landed in Beijing

Beijing Huajian Tang Houhai was built by Ministry of Design (MOD), an internationally renowned design studio from Singapore.

The design inspiration comes from Houhai Lake and the animals that live around it.

In the courtyard, if you observe carefully, you will find many modern artworks inspired by the small animals that inhabit the lake area. The deer leisurely reading the newspaper on the balcony, the fox taking a selfie in the garden, the rabbit carrying luggage on the eaves... all inadvertently add vitality to the hotel.

The hotel *** has 80 guest rooms. The designer divides each space through color tones and materials, and connects each area with animal installation art distributed in the rooms and public areas. Travelers enter the hotel From the beginning, you can feel the surprise and familiarity brought by the space. In the room, the long and slow jazz melody, thick carpets, soft warm yellow lights and the faint fragrance of graphite flowers help guests relieve the fatigue of the journey from the five senses of sound, color, taste and touch.

The hotel names its rooms after Hutong, a representative street of old Beijing, which makes the characteristics of old Beijing in the area more prominent.

When you open the curtains, you will see small scenes outside the window: some face the bustling Houhai Park, some are hidden in deep alleys, and some combine with the views of Houhai Lake to create private courtyard spaces...

In the courtyard, modern public areas such as Pink Rabbit Restaurant, Moon Bar, Fab Coffee Bakery, gym, conference room, and cigar bar meet the convenience of hotel life.

FAB Coffee Bakery and Pink Rabbit Restaurant both belong to Beijing Huajiantang Houhai Hotel, a subsidiary of Huazhu Group. FAB Coffee Bakery is at the entrance of the hotel, facing the alley. In addition to a la carte meals for residents, dining tables are also open to individual guests. The Pink Rabbit Restaurant located in the hotel courtyard mainly serves Spanish cuisine. The high space and exposed metal frame, open kitchen and colorful sofa booths provide gourmets with a more comfortable dining environment. In the evening, the large terrace on the second floor of the restaurant and the massage pool provide an excellent gathering place for many cocktail parties, elegant dinners and fashionable parties in Beijing.

In order to better reflect the contrast between new and old, tradition and modernity in Beijing, the designer used many subtle "juxtapositions" to create a harmonious but different habitat for travelers: Traditional The Chinese-style overhangs are decorated with characteristic ridge animals; the sculptural balcony contrasts with the traditional round window lattice; the visual impact of the charcoal gray building complex and the "catalogue" of gold paint, as well as the exaggerated bathing space and quiet sleeping space in the guest room Complement each other... Every comparison and combination is a new attempt to gradually modernize traditional culture, and it is also the new charm of Beijing city from the perspective of Huajian.

The hotel has a small facade, a row of charcoal gray buildings with a strong sense of technology, hidden in a place rarely visited by tourists. Seven of the small buildings are all left over from the 1950s, forming a square courtyard with a spacious garden in the middle. The high and low chandeliers in the reception area are more modern and fashionable; through the cloister, a gray The area where the brick plain wall connects the lobby and the front desk seems to connect the past and present of Beijing. This urban residence with old dreams and new faces is telling the past and present lives of Beijing at its own pace.

Beijing Huajian Tang Houhai is not only Huajian Tang’s first foothold in Beijing, but also Huajian Tang’s new attempt to open a city hotel. Here, it is expected that Huajian Tang will provide travelers with not only a temporary place to stay, but also Huajian Tang’s new challenge to the “homogenized” life in modern cities. Family-style service, unique Huajian routes, constantly innovative gameplay and every design detail all bring Huajiantang’s understanding of life. We hope that this "urban resort" located in the center of the city can impress every traveler who comes to Huajian, letting go of fatigue and enjoying happiness here.
