A few days ago, I stayed at Sofitel Legend Xi'an.

The reason was that I was participating in a live broadcast of the People's Daily Online and the Xi'an Government. The hotel was arranged at the Datang West Market Hotel. I wanted to stay in a more unique hotel, so I stayed at the Sofitel Legend.

I have been to Xi'an many times before, but never had the opportunity to stay at this legendary hotel. This time it is a dream come true.

After comparing the results, it turns out that there is no harm without comparison. Sofitel Legend and Datang West Market are not even slightly better.

I have said more than once that the best hotel in Xi'an is the Sofitel Legend. I have said more than once that the legendary Sofitel Xi'an is definitely among Accor's four most worth staying hotels in China.

The other three are Raffles Shenzhen (stayed there), Peace Hotel Shanghai (stayed there), and Shangri-La Songtsam Linka MGallery (have not stayed there, the license has been withdrawn).

Therefore, going to Xi'an to stay at the Sofitel Legend is a ritual.

The location of this Sofitel Legend is great.

Within the city walls of Xi'an, next to the provincial government, it is considered to be in the center of the old city. It takes 8 minutes to walk to the city wall, 10 minutes to walk to Muslim Street, and it is also within walking distance to the Bell Tower.

It is very suitable for travelers who arrive in Xi'an for the first time or who come to Xi'an specially.

Accor took over Building 1 of the People's Building in 2014 and then changed it to Sofitel Legend.

The architectural style of this building is very special, combining Chinese, French and Russian styles.

The appearance of the main building is filled with the tall and majestic Russian-style architecture.

A large number of iris, the French national flower, are used as elements in the building, highlighting a strong French style.

The Chinese style is reflected in the entire compound. The octagonal pavilion with glazed tiles, the street lamps with white magnolia, and the large gingko trees in the yard...

If you come here in autumn when the gingko trees turn yellow, it will be extremely beautiful.

Because it is an Accor gold card, the room was upgraded to a deluxe prime minister room (60). Room 60 is pretty good for a building of this age.

The top-level members of AccorHotels have too little platinum, so the benefits of platinum are quite guaranteed. There are very few gold cards at the next level, and they are usually upgraded according to regulations.

This upgrade does not have much value in ordinary hotels, but in a hotel like Sofitel Legend, the difference is at least 500 yuan.

The bar on the top floor of the hotel is called Louis XIII, and it is full of incredibly expensive Remy Martin.

The Xi'an People's Grand Theater in the hotel is a provincial cultural relic protection unit in Xi'an. Master Mei Lanfang has performed here, and Premier Zhou has also seen a play here.

It is still in use. If you are lucky on the day you go to stay, you might be able to catch a performance.

The only restaurant in the legend is called Roman Holiday. It is said that the People's Building where the hotel is located was built in 1953, and the movie Roman Holiday was also released in 1953.

The reason why there is only one restaurant is partly because this is a historical old building with insufficient space, and too many dining facilities will affect the structure of the building. On the other hand, there is no shortage of restaurants in the Accor Courtyard. Sofitel has an all-day restaurant and a Japanese restaurant; there is also a Chinese restaurant in the courtyard; these are all public.

I had breakfast on Roman Holiday. The legendary breakfast is mainly a la carte. All the famous Xi’an snacks you can think of can be eaten in the breakfast restaurant.

There is also a small mini museum on the first floor, which mainly introduces the past and present life of the People's Building.

The rooftop on the top floor is also good. It is a good angle to see the compound, the provincial government and the octagonal building.

This should be regarded as a hidden spot in the hotel. Most people would not climb stairs when staying in a hotel. The elevator only goes to the 7th floor, and then you can go up to the next floor via stairs.

There is a height limit within the Xi'an city wall, and there are no buildings that are too tall, so you can still see a lot of things on the top floor of Sofitel Legend.

Then there is the gym and swimming pool on the first floor. Not big, but sophisticated and photogenic.
