By the way, what kind of disinfectant do you buy?

Guanidine disinfectants have been widely used in daily necessities such as medical disinfection and food disinfection in recent years. Guanidine disinfectant has the characteristics of broad antibacterial spectrum, colorless and odorless, non-irritating, non-toxic and non-corrosive, and is recognized as the safest, non-toxic and efficient broad-spectrum antibacterial agent in 2 1 century.

At present, we commonly use guanidine disinfectants, such as mono-guanidine (full name of polyhexamethylene guanidine hydrochloride, English name of PHMG) and biguanide (full name of polyhexamethylene biguanide hydrochloride, English name of PHMB). Compared with monoguanidine, biguanide has safer, stronger and more stable disinfection performance: ① In application, biguanide is widely used in human contact environment. Monoguanidine is commonly used in aquaculture, disinfectant, paper making, textile and other industries, while biguanide is mainly used in cleaning products, wet wipes, contact lens care solution and so on. ② In terms of safety, biguanide is safer and less irritating. Monoguanidine and biguanide are both safe and non-toxic at a reasonable concentration. However, domestic and foreign research and practical application feedback show that biguanide is safer and more irritating, and it has been included in the list of raw materials allowed to be used in China. ③ From the perspective of bacteriostatic effect, biguanide has stronger disinfection performance. Monoguanidine and biguanide have a good killing effect on several common bacteria such as Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. But in practical application, the killing effect of biguanide is better and more stable than that of guanidine.

The biguanide disinfectant (polyhexamethylene biguanide hydrochloride PHMB) is a cell membrane active antibacterial agent, and its antibacterial mechanism is as follows: firstly, PHMB is a polycationic compound (positively charged), so it is easily adsorbed by various negatively charged bacteria and viruses, thus inhibiting the division function of bacteria and viruses and making them lose their reproductive ability; (2) At the same time, because PHMB is a high polymer, there will be a colloidal film around it, which will firmly wrap the bacterial virus and block its ion channel, making it unable to move, making it unable to breathe and get nutritional supplement, making it suffocate and die soon.

Performance and advantages of biguanides disinfectants;

① High safety. Non-toxic, colorless, tasteless, non-flammable and non-explosive;

② Strong bactericidal ability. Broad spectrum (widely applicable to viruses, fungi, bacteria and molds), high efficiency (killing rate > 99.999%) and long-acting (killing once for 30 days), wide application range of pH value, stable and effective between1-1;

③ Non-corrosive. No corrosion and erosion to various materials (surfaces, textiles, utensils, etc.). );

④ Actual non-toxic level. No pollution, no harmful substances such as aldehyde, iodine and available chlorine, no carcinogen and natural degradation;

⑤ It does not produce drug resistance, and it is effective for mutant viruses;

To sum up, it can be said that biguanides are the safest, most efficient, non-toxic and non-irritating disinfectants known at present.
