How many years did it take to build a subway in Korea?

Seoul Metro 1 Line is the first subway line in Korea. Built in 197 1. After three years and four months' construction, it was opened to traffic on August 1974 15 together with Jiulao-Incheon section of Ren Jing line, Seoul-Shui Yuan section of Beijing-Fuzhou line and Qingliangli-Chengbei section of Jingyuan line.

1978, Shili, Yingfeng to Longshan branch line opened to traffic. The operation mode of this branch line is from Longshan to the north of the city. After the central line was opened to traffic in 2005, it was changed from Longshan via Huiji to Jiuli and Dengma, and the north of the city was no longer the terminal. After years of development, Seoul Metro 1 Line has become a small subway network, from Incheon via Jiulao, Longshan, Seoul Station, Qingliangli and Guangyun University Station to the government, or from Tianan via Cake Shop, Shui Yuan and Jiulao to Qingliangli.

Except for the section from underground Qingliangli to Seoul Station, which is managed by Seoul Metro, the rest are operated by China Railway. It is worth mentioning that most of its construction funds and technology come from Japan. The train it uses is made in Hitachi, Japan.
